If you're looking to kill time, this is one of my favorite shops on Etsy to browse: The Vintage Studio (http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheVintageStudio). Oh my goodness, such gorgeous vintage clothes. I just LOVE the colors and patterns. I was seriously thinking the other day how it would be neat to wear a flowery pretty dress all day instead of comfy pants... and how wearing something like that would change the way I feel about myself.

I have a very special relationship with the idea of being stylish in vintage dresses. It goes something like this:
I could wear dresses. They are pretty and probably ok comfort wise and why not? I can be individual. Who wants to stop me? Yay! I'm doing that!
Wait. I just remembered, styling means I'd need to get out of bed 5 minutes earlier. And I need to select correct shoes (granted that I first bought some)and maybe accessories (granted that I first bought some). Wait, that would be minimum 10 minutes, maybe 15!
Yeeeeah, it's not gonna happen...

LOL I have that debate with myself a lot, thus my current jeans and a pretty top style. I wake up as late as possible for me to still get out the door on time. No make up (other than mascara, got to have mascara), no hair style, just get dressed and go. I can get by with a school t-shirt a few days a week so those days I can sleep in a few minutes later even! LOL

Yes, I value my sleep to much. I'm a jeans and tee girl with dreams of having great style. :)

So... question is: Why aren't we all dressing like that?! If that's what we like...

For me it is a combo of money and comfort. My worn out jeans and t-shirts are cheap and comfortable! LOL Also, being a plus size momma makes the clothes harder to get and more pricey.

for me.. it is feeling like i couldn't pull it off and the locating and $$ of the dresses etc.. and size.. all that kinda stuff. I AM determined though to at least buy one fun dress for summer :)

I LOVE vintage dresses! I would totally love to wear 50's & 60's clothes all day. Women were so classy looking back then!
I am really liking Pan Am, and every week I want the entire wardrobe!!!

I think all of you girls would look perfect in those people you picked out! I love Taylor Swift's style. That romantic vibe she has going on with the beautiful curly hair and red lips. I feel like I can't pull it off though. Anytime I go for something girlier, I get weirded out like people would be like what the heck. I think its cause I spent 40+ hours in a military uniform carrying a gun and working with mostly men. How silly is that though? Dresses, ruffles, flowers, anything girly, it just feels odd when I try them on. So instead my wardrobe consists only of solid colored tees/sweaters, layering tanks and jeans.

all stunning. i agree my problem would be shoes. i am an old woman and have to wear orthotics. laugh at me it's ok. so most shoes just don't work. then of course i own zero accessories. i should do a layout about my work uniform.
no iron black or grey pants, a white tee and a solid cardigan. the same black shoes. every.single.day.

I too wear the same thing everyday; jeans, a 3/4 sleeve v neck shirt and sneakers. I am so boring, but I really don't enjoy buying clothes at my size and I kinda like to blend into the background as much as possible. But I have promised myself that once I reach a comfortable weight, you know where I rediscover my ankles, I am going to buy a cute dress and wear it more than once. :)

After years of wearing only jeans and nice tops, I finally bought myself a few dresses last summer. I like them and they don't take any longer than jeans. Well, at least in the summer when I'm wearing cute sandals and bare legs regardless of whether I'm in a dress or not. There's a reason I only have summer dresses.
I'm 36, and it's only in the last couple of years that I've started to feel like I have any style. Sadly, it's being at my current weight that finally pushed me into it. I can no longer just buy and wear whatever I want because it doesn't look good on me. I'm still a jeans girl, but I'm wearing nicer shirts and even accessories with my jeans. I reserve the right to go back to lazy if I ever manage to lose this weight and can get away with it again!
