Great price resource for then/now pages

With an upcoming move in my house, I've been trying to get everything together for our then/now page about living in this town. One of the statistics I wanted to use was gas prices, and I found this interesting PDF through the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Pretty interesting to watch the prices change through the years!

Wow - the average the year I got my license was $1.46! Ah, the good old days, when you were broke and could put $5 in and actually go places on it!

I was looking at that and had to laugh !!
I have just done the conversion of how much regular unleaded costs in the UK and it works out to $10.28 per gallon :crying:

I lived in Italy for a few years and I remember just how atrocious our gas prices were. We never went anywhere because of the costs!

I remember when I first got my car, I was able to fill the tank on $20. As in, from gas-light-on to completely full... $20.

Now, same car, and it costs me almost $50.

1995, the national average was $1.14. DH and I (then only living together for a few months) drove from Kansas to Arizona on $32 in gas. We averaged almost 60 miles to the gallon in his little Sprint. Ah, those were the days!
