I have a friend who is JUST starting out with digi scrapping. I've tried doing written tutorials for her, but she is having the hardest time just understanding the basics.
SOOOO!! I wanted to do a video, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what software to use to capture what I'm doing on my computer and record what I'm saying and all that. Do any of you use a program that does that - and if so, which one? I'm looking for free, but something cheap will do too :)
Oh - and I'm on a Mac if that matters.

I used Camtasia (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.html) for the tutorial I did. Definitely not free but they have a free trial so if you only needed it for a short time, you could just use that.
I don't know of any fully free ones though - maybe try the Mac app store?

I use Jing (http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html?gclid=CIqsjf7Gnq8CFSzptgodRFsPbA), but I don't know if it's compatible with mac. It's free though. The only "catch" is that there is a 5 minute limit to the videos that you record. :)

Thank you Lynnette - I found a few in the Mac store. They didn't cost much (well some did, lol) but I haven't gotten any yet. One of the first ones I found looked promising - iShowU (http://store.shinywhitebox.com/ishowu-v1) looks good, but I wasn't gonna pay until I knew for sure.
Libby - I did find Jing and they did have something for Mac. I used it and it worked perfectly but saved it as a .swf (which youtube doesn't support I guess). So as of right now - I'm trying to share the video I made using their site. I hope it works the way I need it to - then I won't have to buy anything :)
Thank you both!! I've been looking for a (free) program like this for a while and never found anything I liked (should have tried Jing sooner - assuming I can share the video after it's done uploading) :D

I use Jing all the time, with their Screencast site - very handy!

Apparently Quick Time on my Mac does it too. I just got it to record my screen real easy AND it has a share option that goes to my youtube, Facebook & iTunes (and a bunch of other sites)...I'm waiting to see if it shares successfully - and then I might just use Quick Time from now on :)
