American Idol: Week 1 Votes

Hey gals! Anyone can play and enter at any time, it's early in the season, so anyone's game to win! :) I'll post the current point standings in the next week's posting thread. Have fun and good luck!!

Here are the rules:

1) After each show, come to the AI thread here and post who you'll think will be in the bottom 3 AND the person(s) you predict will be voted off.

2) All votes MUST BE CAST no later than 30 minutes before the results show STARTS on the EAST COAST (usually 8pm EST, so the votes will be due by 7:30 EST). I will document the votes cast at that time. Any changes made after that time WILL NOT COUNT (I want to be able to actually *watch* the show myself)

3) Points will be given as follows (or modified as fairly as possible depending on how they present the results):
a) One point for identifying someone in the bottom 3, see b) if the person in your bottom 3 is eliminated
b) Three points for correctly identifying the person(s) voted off. In the early rounds this will be up to 12 points per week (since there will be 2 men and 2 women voted off each week)
c) Five points will be given at the very end for correctly identifying the winner.

4) PLEASE don't try to "cheat" by editing your posts after 7:30 EST the night of the results. I am going to do the best I can to get everyone's vote properly recorded prior to the show. Up until then, change away if you need to.

Since there wasn't a true "bottom 3" this week, if Garrett, Colton, Amy, or Joanne were in your bottom 3, you got 3 points (1 for bottom 3, 2 for them leaving). If they were in your bottom 3, but NOT picked to leave, you got 1 point. :) Let me know if there are any discrepancies (I put your choices into a spreadsheet before the show, but I'm only human, LOL). Congrats to Meghan...you're an expert at this!!

Yup, they threw us a curve ball! I've posted the results in the first thread and explained the points as you said- if one of the 4 voted out was in your bottom three, you get a point. If that person was also your pick to leave, you got 2 more points. From now on, let's all pick only 3 to leave (just to be consistent for everyone) and we'll play it by ear with what's fair for figuring out the points. Clear as mud?! LOL
