just saw this deal on hip2save..that's 49 after a 30 dollar GC after purchase but wow that's a steal!

**there seems to be some discrepancy about whether this deal is for the keyboard or the touch but you can always just call your local WM and see I'm sure.
Just thought I'd share :)

Awesome, Nikki!! Thanks for sharing this!
That is a good deal. I saw a similar deal at Best Buy for the basic Kindle at $49 with the purchase of a Kindle Fire.

I'm debating on buying one of these for my daughter's 10th birthday now. I have the Kindle Touch and she loves it. She is an avid reader so I know it would get lots of use. It has less storage capacity than the Touch but at this price it is also roughly HALF the cost so we could probably live with that. ;)

I have the 2nd generation keyboard and have never had any problems with storage..I've had it for 2 years now. Probably have 200 books on my kindle.

Good to know, Nikki. I imagine by the time storage does become an issue there will be a newer model that she will be pining after. :) DH gave me the go-ahead so I'll stop by tomorrow and pick one up tomorrow if my store has them in. Her birthday is late in June so I won't have to hold on to it for too long.

Thanks for the tip! I picked one up this morning - holding it until bday/xmas for my son.

Jill was it the keyboard or the touch? I'm thinking about getting a 2nd one if it's the touch since that's such a good price.

same here! Mine is 2nd generation with half the storage capability of K3. I have 934 books on it right now and nowhere near being full yet! Of course, you can archive your books too, if you don't want to keep them all on Kindle.

It's the keyboard.

I had planned to go today but was up all night with the storms and too tired to mess with it today. I am going to look tomorrow. I hope our store has them.
I only have like 3 books at a time on my kindle, I archive everything else. I also don't reread books so I'll probably just delete stuff after I read it unless I loved it.

I grabbed one yesterday too after seeing you post about it Nikki. We have four people in the house trying to share two kindles and the math just isn't working anymore. LOL Now we're debating going ahead and breaking it out vs. hanging onto it and giving it to dd for her bday at the end of the month. Hmmm...

I picked up one for Caitrin today. Our store had plenty in stock. She is going to be so excited. I have about 6 weeks now to gather up some good reading material to stock it with (I'll be scoping out the freebies!) so that it is charged, filled and ready for her when she gets it. :)
