In the time since I stopped scrapping (about 4 years.. eek!), apparently there has been a big change in the way people design their siggies... love the new look, but have no idea how to do it in terms of what size I need to use, etc. Is there a tutorial out there someplace, or can someone give me basic directions? Please and thank you! :)

To get started, I just right clicked and saved someone's siggie to my computer. Then I opened it in Photoshop and filled over it with white to start designing mine right over top of theirs. That way, it was already the right size & resolution for web. Just an idea. I'm sure there's a less hacker-like way to do it. :p

Lori, I used this tutorial (http://lenagardner.blogspot.fr/2012/01/creating-signature-clickable-to.html) to create mine... Which isn't yet up on this site, BTW! LOL Off to change that!

THANK you Chloe! Arual, 4 years ago it was all about the blinkies... which some people still use too. :)

It's trial and error I think. I upload mine to the forum, and if it looks too big, I go back and resize.

Let's see if this works....

OK, got the basics down.... will add the link type stuff later. How do I credit the kit, etc...? Or don't people do that?

I usually try to use just one kit and white it really small under the siggie. As for the design I find it easiest to start with a 12x12 page like a regular layout. I design my name and other stuff in the middle of the page then I crop in as closely as I can possibly get to the design without cutting anything off. Sharpen. Resize for web under png and then upload at photobucket. If I am linking to like facebook etc I just slice the deign into pieces and hae them sliced according to site or as close as I can get to it.

That's so pretty Lori! I don't tend to credit the kit on siggies. If people want to know they'll ask or PM me.

Looks good to me. I've been around for eleven months and have yet to make myself a siggie! Oops.

LOL Martha! I am typically a HUGE procrastinator, so I'm surprised that I did this so quickly.... but they just look so cool that I wanted to make one! :)

I need to do a new one. I used Lena's tut for my first one and will most likely be referring back to it for my next one too. :)

Thanks for the responses ladies! Of course, in my first attempt, I spelled Dianne's last name wrong.... that doesn't look good, does it? Hahaha! I think at this point I'm just going to leave things well enough alone. I checked out the tut, but it looks like more work than I want to do at the moment! :)

Looks great Lori! I think it would be really helpful to post a tutorial about siggy making, avatar uploading, etc in our tutorial section. It would be good to have all of the sizes, and limits in one place.

I'm not gonna do a new one cause I let this one get so old it's summer again, lol and I still FREAKINGLY adore that kit. :)

Oh, btw, since I posted this thread earlier today, I have discovered that I spelled siggy wrong. I HATE spelling things wrong. Grrrr. :) Don't judge me.... I'm usually a good speller! LOL!

Ohhhh yes, all the blinkies. I remember them from another forum I was on (not scrap related at all) yearsssss ago, and it use to make everyone so frustrated when you would get these people who would make gigantic ones and it would crash some peoples systems. LOL!
