What Scrap Software do you use?

I'm new to digital scrapping. I downloaded a trial of Scrapbook Max and am considering purchasing the full version.

What software do you all use?

I can't spend alot, and the Scrapbook Max seems to have alot of features for the price.

I use pscs2, I have never tried or heard of that program though. I think you can get photoshop elements pretty cheap?

I use Photoshop Elements 5.0 You can download the trial version at the Adobe website to see if you like it before buying. The only thing with this is that there is a pretty steep learning curve. I taught myself to use it with tutorials that I found online, but it definitely takes some time to figure it out.

What part of OK are you in? I'm on the AR/OK state line myself (at least until my darn house sells. LOL!)

Yes, I believe you can get Photoshop Elements quite cheap and I'd recommend investing in something like that. The learning curve is perhaps steeper than some of these scrapbook specific programs, but you will be able to do much more as your skills grow and you're not likely to outgrow your software as fast.

I use Photoshop CS3, which is not an inexpensive option, but I started with Photoshop way back when, pre-digiscrapping, and I couldn't imagine using anything else! I believe Adobe does occasionally have quite good promotions for Elements users to upgrade to the full version of Photoshop, which is another good reason to consider Elements. I'm a firm believer that the best investment is one that allows you the greatest creative freedom and will not limit you as your skills grow.

I would also recommend a version of photoshop, elements being the cheapest vs. PS CS3. Reason being, you will want something better as your skill grows. I started with Jasc Paint Shop Pro and was looking to upgrade within months.

You just can't beat the quality and tools with Adobe.

I just started digi-scrapping last month and started out with PSE 6. I used the free trial to make sure it was a good fit and I ended up loving it! There are a lot of great tutorials out there and if you have specific questions, you can post them here and the girls are really great about helping you answer them!

No matter where you go in the digiscrap world, you will find no end of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements tutorials, and there will always be tons of people who can help when you have questions. :)

I too would recommend Photoshop Elements to a beginning digi scrapper. I personally use and design with PS CS3, but if I was starting out as a scrapper, I'd want Elements. :)

yep, there is a promo going on now to upgrade for $299.

I just upgraded from PSE6 (started with PSE3) to PSCS3 (actually did it through Wacom Privileges though, not the Adobe promo).

I agree with everyone else though -- PSE is great for scrapping!

I also havew adobe photoshop elements 6.0, I love it so far except for the no text wrap stuff, and I am still learning how to use it!!

I started on PSP X, as well, but I upgraded to PSP XI instead of PS, as the new PSP was what I could afford at the time. I'm hoping that sometime this year I can move over to PS.

I just started digi scrappin back in November and I started with PSE6 and I like it so far, I just ordered a book about it today, and hear the author is awesome on his PSE bokks!!

I started on PSE2 which I used for 1 day until I switched to PS7. I used that for a very brief period, moved to CS2 which I used until this past fall when I upgraded to CS3. I am mostly self taught with the aid of tutorials. I use my program for my graphics design, and web design, so I have to use it daily for work.

I have heard great things about PSE, and I think that's a great starter program if you are ever intending to upgrade to full version CS in the future.

I started out in PSP 9. I switched over to CS 2 when I got tired of Meghan harrassing me about it.... and I've never looked back. I love CS2. :)

I started with PSP 9 because it was way affordable at the time. I know now how to use it. Late last year I started making stuff on PSCS2 and its so much easier. Expecially of you are usng actions and templates. There are also lots of tutorials out there.

I guess it depends on how long you would like to dabble on this hobby. If you are it for the long haul, might as well get the CS2 or CS3 but if its just a passinig stage I suggest using Elements or even PSP.

Thank you all so much for the advice. I will try the Photoshop Elements. I'll have to go to a wifi hot spot to download it tomorrow as I only have dial up (ugghh). I bought a digi kit and had to go to town to dl it yesterday LOL.
