What's the diff? I can't tell from the website, except for their looks and that bamboo fun comes with PSE and Corel. Are there more features in bamboo fun since it's ~$20 more?

The Bamboo is ONLY the tablet and pen.

The Bamboo Fun includes tablet, pen and mouse, plus the extra software. :)

The Bamboo Fun's pen has an eraser too. Probably my favorite feature, lol! It's so much easier to just flip over the pen then to take the extra two nanoseconds to click on the eraser tool. :D

My graphire has the eraser on it, but I NEVER use it. LOL...I always forget it's there....

the regular Bamboo (not the "fun" version) also has an eraser. that is what I have because I didn't need the software or mouse.

I found a bamboo fun for $87.99 on ebay, so I considered getting it. But I don't need the bundle of software it comes with. I thought - what a great deal though, but if I don't need the rest, then it's kind of a waste. I could be using the $18 on something else (like this Sat's releases)! :D I just wanted to see if there were more features on the b fun over regular b. :)

Thanks chicas!

but do you need the mouse? The plain bamboo doesn't have a mouse and if you think you'll be using both the pen and mouse, the Fun is the way to go.

Julie - I just have the mouse than came with my desktop. Do I need the one from the tablet or can I still use the old one?

The tablet mouse only works on top of the tablet - but the mouse you have hooked up now can screw with the tablet (making your pointer/cursor jump all over the place), so it's recommended if you want to continue using a mouse, just use the tablet mouse. :)

But you don't NEED to use a mouse at all - I use the pen for everything a mouse can do.

Do you guys leave your tablet plugged in or take it off when you're not using it? DH and DD will need the mouse when they're on the web. So the mouse that comes with b fun - you use it on the tablet? It won't work on a regular surface, right?

I use my tablet 100% of the time, so I leave it plugged in all the time, lol. ;) The tablet mouse ONLY works on top of the tablet, which is like a 4x6 work area - not on any other surface. I personally didn't like it, so my tablet mouse is packed away in some box somewhere in the house, lol.

You shouldn't need to unplug the tablet, it won't affect your regular mouse. But when using the tablet, you might want to unplug your mouse because it will affect it. Because a regular mouse will move no matter what you put it on - but a tablet ONLY works if the pen is hovering over the little 4x6 work area. So there is interference from the regular mouse when you're using the tablet, but none when the tablet isn't in use. Does that make sense?

I see what you're saying, I think I should go for B fun then. If it's just me, the pen is fine, but DH and DD will probably use the mouse. Maybe later they'll get use to the pen...I have a really bad wrist from using the mouse all the time.
