I'm getting ready to order some, I'll be in the 3rd trimester next Friday.
So, I'm assuming I should buy some newborn pampers or something to start with? Cooper was only 6 pounds full term & Keira was 7lbs 10 oz, so I don't know what Harper will be, somewhere in the middle maybe.
And we're trying to decide between Fuzzi Buns or Bum Genius 4.0, we're going to do the pocket ones, mainly because Sean likes that idea more and he does most of the laundry.
Are the Fuzzi Buns like fleece? I've seen some reviews saying they were really hot. Anyone use the Bum Genius 4.0? I know the AIO's get great reviews and I think eventually I'll get some of those as well.
Help me decide please! LOL! I'll have everything for the boy after I get these. I can't believe I'm a week away from the 3rd trimester.

We use the Fuzzi Buns and LOVE them, I had a couple Bum Genius and had problems with staining, but that's my only complaint about them... I'm not sure how Fuzzi Buns would be hotter than Bum Genius... they're the same thing just a little bit different structure

oh and yes to the pampers, the one-size diapers are kinda big on newborns and will leak until their thighs get a little bigger... so we used pre-folds with covers until about 2 months old, when the one-size diapers finally fit :)

Ok, I was just wondering if the material was hot. I think Fuzzi Buns is what we're leaning towards, from what I've read the way they are sized sounds the best.

I've had 12 bumgenius 2.0s all of finn's life and they're still in great shape. BUT it's getting pretty nasty up in there so we've gone back to paper till he potty trains.

yes, I love the adjustable elastic in the legs... I think that's why we haven't had any leakage problems like we've had in between snap sizes like we do sometimes with the other ones... we may have Asher in cloth at the meet-up so if we do, you're welcome to see them :)

i had AIO for my youngest. she's not making them anymore but LOVED them. I tried using prefolds when Jake was born but he was just so scrawny that I switched to disposables until he put some weight on. Used Fuzzi Bunz and they were okay. not my first choice but i didn't like how bulky they were with the inserts. I could have just switched around the inserts, I know. If you can find a store that does a mixed pack of different brands, I'd try that and go from there. I LOVED my cloth. I highly recommend having at least 1-2 wool covers. best thing ever!

I have some FuzziBunz Elites, and a bunch of BG 4.0's. The lining on the FB's is fleece, and on the BG's is suedecloth. One wouldn't be hotter than the other, I wouldn't think. The FB's are more trim than the BG's. Here's a photo I took of C a few weeks ago.

I bought one of the new BG AIO's, the freetime, and I'm not really a fan. I just really like my pockets I guess. I just feel like the way the flaps sit are weird and I always think it's gonna leak, even though it never does, lol.
We did sposies for a lot longer than I had planned on originally. We did prefolds and covers for a while before we dove into the pocket stash I had and then ordered more. We moved into cloth once he was out of the newborn sized diapers and had put on a few lbs (and he wasn't itty bitty, I mean he was almost 8lbs at birth). We still use sposies overnight, but I bought some bamboo inserts to try and change that (he's a heavy wetter overnight).

I absolutely loved FuzziBunz. They were my workhorse diaper that I used for outings & daycare, as well as overnight b/c you could double stuff them. That said, BumGenius weren't out yet when we were cd'ing. We didn't start cd'ing until luke was almost a year old, so we didn't do the newborn thing. But our plan, if we had another, was to do prefolds & covers until the baby could fit into small FBs.
