Is the week of Thanksgiving a very busy week at Disney World? Looks like that's going to be the best week for us to take the kids when DH gets home since Avery will have that entire week of from school for Thanksgiving vacation.

I'm just curious if it's usually really crowded at that time or not.

He's ready to hit the button and set our reservations but I'm still trying to decide if that's when I want to go or not. :)

I have never been at Thanksgiving to Disney but have to other theme parks and it seemed pretty perfect to me with temperature and the crowds. During the week is always better as well in my experience.

I've been at Thanksgiving twice now and didn't think it was bad at all, but then I was just happy to be at Disney. Do have to admit the Thanksgiving dinner we had at Epcot left a little to be desired though. :)

Anytime kids have a break from school it will be busy, but the weather will be perfect & Disney is always busy. I'd rather be comfortable & wait, than hot & breeze through.

Fyi, the new fantasyland will be just gearing up, that will increase the crowd level. The grand opening is Dec 6th, but i think i read Nov 17th most things will start being opened.

Here's the article on the new fantasyland.

busy busy week at Disney :) Here's a page (http://yourfirstvisit.net/2010/10/20/2012-weeks-to-visit-walt-disney-worldanked-in-order/) with the weeks ranked best to worst to go with crowd levels and such. The week before would be much better if you are willing to pull Avery out of school. Another good week would be the day after New Years. If we could afford Disney this year we'd go the 2-7 of Jan since we're out of school til the 8th plus it's their value season and chances are there would be free dining. You are going to pay more for your room that week vs others as well since it's a holiday price. If you could wait and go like Thanksgiving Day thru like the next Wednesday your crowds will be much better.

Also a lot of the good dinner reservations are going to be gone b/c those get booked up at the 180 day mark. The earlier you can plan a trip the better off you are.

Yeah that's what I thought.

When we went on our honeymoon we stayed from Jan 1-6 and it was perfect. Perfect weather and NO crowds. We checked in just as all the New Year's crowd was checking out. I'm trying to convince him that we should go that week instead.

I think they put up the Christmas decorations Thanksgiving weekend so that might be neat to see. I hope to someday be able to visit and see the Christmas decorations myself. There are also extra holiday shows and parties you can choose to add on if you want.

If you could go the following week it would probably be less crowded but can understand not wanting to miss school.

Have fun. So excited for you.

Thanksgiving week is one of their busiest weeks of the year. I'd definitely push for January.
