So, I'm sick of my hair. I go through phases like this fairly often, and honestly, this is the longest I've gone without a massive change. As you can see here, I've had lots of different looks:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e280/LibbyWeifenbach/haircollage12_zps5ebc5356.jpg

My current style is most like the pregnant picture in the bottom right (excuse the non-makeup face - at that point in my pregnancy, I didn't care anymore. LOL) The picture directly above that was taken about 6 weeks after Chloe was born. I'd just had it trimmed, and I straightened it for the photo. But now it's back to the length it was in the pregnant picture.

Most days I have it up in a clip or a ponytail, and even when I do fix it, it looks like a big mess. That's one reason I've kept it long like this... pulling it up in a clip is way easier than actually styling it.

Anyway, I'm really sick of it now, and I want a new look. The problem is I have NO IDEA what I want. I know I don't want to go too short because I worked too long to grow it out. Plus, still being able to pull it back is always a plus. I'm not opposed to straightening it for part of the style (though I'll probably wear it curly around the house). I just want something that doesn't look like a mop just hanging there when I actually DO take the time to style it.

So, hook me up! What do you think?

I love this cut. It is similar to how I get my hair cut. In long layers angled from about the chin level.
http://gathers.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Hairstyles-For-Long-Hair2.jpg Mine is not as curly as yours but it is curly.

I love your hair though. Wish I had naturally curly hair like that. Maybe a change in color would be something to try?

As a fellow natural curly girl........I would do a cut that is good both curly and straight. I always loved it when I was an angled bob cut. In fact, I have really missed it and considered going back to it. Easy, always looked cute and it was short enough that I felt it was styled instead of always pulled up.

Oh, I like that, Jessica!

Tara, I almost just emailed you privately cause I knew you would have awesome advise! LOL Do you happen to have a pic of that cut?

Alright Libby.......I found TONS of my hair straight and hardly any of my hair curly. I did a lot of each though. That is what I get for being behind the camera most of the time! LOL

Straight front

Straight back

Curly front (horrible pic where you can't see much)

Can't find a back curly pic but I will still look. :)

I love the look of the top left one of you Libby!

my favourite is top left too! you should do that again! IDK I guess it depends on where you are post baby stage but you might like having shorter hair better than putting it up in a pony? I remember once I quit nursing (both times) my hair would start thinning so bad and so both times I cut it just past chin lenght.. I also didn't mind if I wasn't able to pull it back because having it a bit shorter meant little toddler hands couldn't grab and yank on it quite so easy. LOL

Good thread! I usually have DH cut my hair dry while it's curly. I really want to get it cut back to where my avatar is. We cut enough layers to give it shape and a little framed around the face. I never straighten my hair though.

Wow...I love that you've had so many different looks!!

My fave two are the top left and the one next to it. I think that by going shorter, more volume up on top, it brings out your eyes and is just very flattering for your face shape. If you do a bob, I think you need more angled down in front...and shorter in the back

This was my most recent cut...and while I don't style it like she did here every day, the shape is basically there and I think that it would be really flattering on you. Even with curly hair, it's easy to blow out and flat iron.

My fav is the top left also. :) But you always look so cute sweetie!

But I have to ask, what product do you use on your hair to have it curly without frizzing up? I also have naturally curly/wavy hair, but I have a horrible time with it frizzing up if I go curly. So I either straighten it, or straighten it and then use curlers.

First off, I just want to say that it's awesome that your hair is so versatile (different colors and lengths all look good on you). Which one is closest to your natural color? I think my favorite style is the one on the left side in the middle, but really they are all great! Good luck, keep us posted on what you choose!

I think you had short hair when we first met Libby -maybe like the top middle? :)

I keep my hair at my shoulders because I'm like you, I have to be able to put it up.

Wow! You guys are so helpful! Thank you!

I'm leaning toward something sorta shoulder length like the middle left one. If I go much shorter than that, then I have to go through the awkward "growing it out" phase which sucks because of my face shape. With curly hair, when it's short, it grows OUT before it grows down. LOL So, I sport an afro for a while. ;)

Here are 3 other pics that were all taken in a 2 month span around the same time as the middle left one. So, you can see way it looks straight, too -

Sheri, my natural color is actually the pregnancy pic. I haven't decided if I'll keep it natural or color it again. I liked the color in the middle left, and that's Jeff's fave since that's how it was when we met. But I always loved the blonde look. It's just so expensive to keep up with.

Julie, I don't use anything special for my curls, though I know I should. Some days I don't put any product at all, but if I'm having trouble with frizz (like because of the time of year), I'll just put some mousse in it when it's wet. Then I either let it air dry or blow-dry with a diffuser.

I love the middle left photo...color and cut. You could wear it curly or straighten it. Very versatile and it looks like it can still be pulled back.

I tend to pull mine back more often than not if it's a length that can be pulled back. So, I usually cut it super short so that I'm forced to do something with it. I wish there was even just a little bit of wave to mine so that I didn't have to fuss with it every morning.

my favaorite is the middle left and I am considering a new do myself and I am inclined to get it similar to that one since I haven't had a cut since May 2011

I'd go with something that grazes your shoulder blades- long enough to look good curly, short enough to not require a lot of effort as well. If you find a stylist that is really good with curls, tehy should be able to cut it so it looks good both ways.

Also- for anyone with curly hair, I strongly recommend the curly girl method for hair care. I started it a year ago and my hair is healthier than ever before, I use less product, and all my product costs a lot less too.

You really have great curl, Libby! I recommend some layers and some highlights. That would give you just enough change to be fun.

And I always think it's better to have short, styled hair than long hair that just ends up in a ponytail every day.
