My sister is driving me crazy. She calls here almost everyday to complain about her ex-husband and what he is doing to her. I see it as mostly mutual abuse between the two honestly. I have told her this before and as a result did not get to see my niece for months at a time. She is 11 years old and has been through so much in those 11 years. She told my husband a few months ago she wishes she could come live with us. I know we are not perfect but at least she would not have to be in a tug-of-war between two people who seem to only care about themselves. I cannot even talk to my sister on the phone anymore because that is all she talks about is herself!! This is the same sister who dropped my niece off on Christmas evening and New Year's Eve and did not show back up for 24 hours (or more) to pick her up even though she was not supposed to stay the night. That was the last time I had it out with her about how she behaves. Did not see my niece again until summer time :( And I love my niece like she was one of my own so I really missed her. The only time we really do get to see her is when my sister needs a sitter. Just really ticked off tonight and tired of hearing her complain. I could go on about the crap she does but you get the idea.

That's so sad. I have no advice, but a big hug for what must be a difficult situation.

Very difficult Jacinda. We got into a huge disagreement because she let my niece hear a nasty message her ex left on her phone. I sent my son to play in the bedroom with my niece so she didnt hear it or what I said to her mom. She thinks I am taking her ex's "side" but in reality I do not think either one is right. I think they both behave very childishly and the only one who is really losing or being hurt is their daughter :(

Ugh! That is so upsetting to hear. I hate hearing stories of children being caught in the crossfire. Your niece is lucky to have you. :)
