How is everyone doing? All of you that can check in....
Here in our parts we are doing really good. No power outtage. It's crazy the sun is coming in and out. It's cloudy, rainshowers maybe and still very windy. I feel for the seashore areas they were hit the hardest and NY & NJ.
I still can't get a hold of my sis in NJ she's in Bergen County where it flooded badly b/c a damn broke. I've texted called and nothing as of yet  holding out and hoping they are all ok she does live a block from the river.
oh i hope your sister is OK!
we just got our power back (it was out for about 20 hours) - so i'm just seeing all the news coverage of the damage - so sad :(
it's overcast here in my town (boston suburb) - hopefully we won't have too much rain today ... and i'm very happy to have my electricity again!

OMG I hope your sister is alright, Mary!
I've had all the affected places in my prayers since last week--we went through something similar only a few months ago, so I am really really REALLY praying this storm passes quickly without too much damage. :(
Our power went back out after about 30 minutes ... Darn :(

Hopefully you will hear from your sis soon. I will still be keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

Hoping for all the families and friends who are in NY and NJ. All the images just look so devastating. NY has been through so much I really feel for everyone there. My Brother in law lives in NY just a few blocks from Madison Square Gardens, he was visiting his parents in SLC and missed the storm but his Fiance was still there. Last night she still was posting on facebook so I am going to assume she is ok. Thoughts and prayers going out to everyone with family and friends in these states.

I'm in VA, and our power just came back on. :) Luckily the lack of power was our most serious problem. I have family in NY and CT, and they've got crazy stories.
My sister and her family live in a high rise in Manhattan a few blocks from the East River. All the buildings between them and the river were in that Zone A that was evacuated, but their building was the start of the next zone. During the storm their building was entirely surrounded by water up to the level of car windows. Thankfully it has receded now, but it sounds like it's going to be a long time until things are back to normal. My brother is a couple of miles away from her, and he never even lost power. My sister's inlaws are in Long Island (NY), and a tree came through their roof. Luckily no one was hurt, but there's a lot of damage.

be safe everyone!
as far as i know, everyone at home (outside of boston) is okay. the storm hasn't hit out here (buffalo, ny) though. it was ridiculously windy and rainy last night, but that was a "pre-storm" apparently. it's supposed to be hitting out here sometime tonight or early tomorrow. i just hope we don't lose power. it's cold and rainy and i have a fridge full of food that will go bad if the power goes out (and i really don't wanna have to replace everything, we just went shopping the other day). i dunno. if it goes out, it goes out. the flashlight has batteries, my phone is charged, there's gas in the car. so it's whatever.

I made it through ok in the Boston area. I was without power for a few hours yesterday but that was it. Compared to others, I was lucky.

So many have been affected and now the aftermath. My thoughts are with everyone still going through it.
My sis finally sent me a text me she is ok, no power and cell towers are down so lil to no signal so she can't check in much. No flooding at her house but lots of other damage :|

My husbands family all lives in New Jersey and Maryland (some here in Florida too) and he was told his aunt and uncle had like 8 inches of water in their house. Have not heard about any of the others yet. It looks horrible up there. We have been through several tropical storms and hurricanes and not seen that much devastation and so widespread too. Hope everybody on here effected is able to check in and everything is ok

Still without power here in WV... thankfully the snow has stopped, though!
