Anyone done theirs yet? Any good ideas for them? Show it off, please!

I haven't decided what to do yet. Take a new picture. Use one from vacation this year like I did last year. Something different. I don't know.

I haven't done one this year yet but I have an idea of what I want to do, a picture of just the kiddos in the desert. Last year I did an infographic card and I loved it.

I think I'm going to design my own Luxe card this year and print them with mpix pro... I have or outfits all picked out, but still need to take our picture... I will probably do that either this weekend or next week.

I have decided to cut back on our list. Last year, we sent out like eight. I'm thinking fifty this year.

Mine are done. Ordered them last night.

I changed it up this year...5x7 instead of the usual 4x8. It's also the first time in years that I didn't design it myself.

And seeing as the website won't let me have the picture, I'll have to wait until I get them to post one...

I'm going to combine baby announcement and Christmas cards this year -- so if anyone has some fabulous ideas -- I would love to hear/see some ideas! The baby will be here on Nov 21st, so I think I'll take some pics of the 3 kiddos together for the card.

I'm considering sitting it out this year, too. Our relatives have never been big card senders and fewer friends send them every year, so the 30 or so I've been sending feels like too many. DS has a few relatives who live too far away to see the kids and like getting a yearly photo, so I may just send a hybrid card with a photo inside to those few people. (And when I say "few," I'm talking under 5.)

I'm going to combine baby announcement and Christmas cards this year -- so if anyone has some fabulous ideas -- I would love to hear/see some ideas! The baby will be here on Nov 21st, so I think I'll take some pics of the 3 kiddos together for the card.

With a Nov. due date you should be good. DD was due Dec 25th, but by Dec. 4th the docs were saying she'd be born within a few days. I'd been just about to send cards, so I made the mistake of deciding to wait and prepared a combined announcement and New Year's card. She made us wait until 12/26, so no card for us that year.

I usually do one with the whole family in it, though... so I'm having some second thoughts. :) I might post this digitally on Facebook and send out a different one with all of us on it. It depends on whether I can get a photo of us all in the next week or so!

This is the third year that I've done a collage of photos from the year and a bullet list of highlights. Everybody seems to love it and it just gives a quick glance as to what our year was like. It's also just really hard for me to get the four boys at their ages to take a Christmas photo. So it's much easier just to take photos from throughout the year of them doing all their activities.

I used Shawna's photocard collages this year and it made it much easier!

Oh and then I print them myself.

Hm. It's possible? I thought she chose one of their designs and just inserted her photo but maybe it was hers. She did send out 100+ though (she is a mommy & me teacher and on staff at our church so she sent them to everyone in her classes), so maybe she ordered inexpensive postcards instead of christmas cards? They were on postcard-type cardstock.

I trust you gals though! I will look into them. :) I've been doing Costco, but I'd rather have a nice thick cardstock than a photo-paper card.

I'm getting it printed through mpixpro and am going to do the luxe card. It's actually going to be ornate shaped, so most of the empty parts won't be there. lol. I kinda love it on my computer screen. Hopefully i will like it as much printed.

I would HIGHLY recommend WHCC. It's free to become a member and you get 5 free 8x10's when you sign up (for color calibration). They also send you samples of their different card stock options. I always get my cards printed there. They have loads of shapes (including round cards that can be made into ornaments). Two-sided cards on semi-gloss card stock start at $16.55 for a set of 25 (includes envelopes and shipping).

These are awesome! I usually go all out with fun photo cards but I think I'm going to skip them this year. I have box after box of store bought cards sitting in my stash. I think I'll just send them out and toss a few 4x6 prints in the envelope. It feels like the lazy way out and, as a scrapper, I always feel more is expected of me... but, really, I don't think anyone even looks at them. No one ever comments on them, or even mentions that they got the cards. It feels like a huge waste of time. Gosh, I feel like Scrooge. LOL! I've done some cards over the years that I absolutely love but I'm just not feeling it lately.

Vistaprint. Its really cheap. I also got them on linen paper. They have lots of options, but its still cheap. This is the 3rd year I have had them do them and I have liked them every year. I'm not sure what's up with your friends, I really liked all of mine.

Ohhhh this has inspired an idea for me. I was struggling doing my daughters card for her because I was trying to fit all three in one photo and it is not working. I might try something more along this line. My daughter loves what I came up with but I used the photo of the baby only in it and she wants the whole family on the card.

I just went with the snowglobe since I only decided last night that I would actually send some out. Also, in the interest of time, (please don't shun me!!!) I printed them at Wal-mart. I know they're not as good of quality, but none of my friends are going to notice the difference unless they're comparing my cards side-by-side, and it was fast and cheap. Mine are 4x6, and I bought plain 4x6 envelopes that I'm going to dress up with a little washi tape.

I printed 10, and I highly doubt I'll send out even that many. I live with my parents, so I can just hand them one, and I'll send one to my grandmother and one to her sister/brother-in-law, but with my grandfather recently passing, I don't have one to send down there, so I'll be lucky if I send out 2 or 3 cards this year...

Oh, let me add the downside to my "cheap" route - it's hard to find 4x6 envelopes and I didn't want to order them and have to wait. I ended up at Michael's paying twice for the envelopes than what I did for the cards! Live & learn... lol

Beautiful! I ended up cutting about 1/2 inch off of mine to fit in the A2 size envies I had! ;)

I love everyone's cards. I went super simple this year-just wasn't in the mood to do an extravagant card even though I had a kit picked out and bought. I still like them though.

I had found a box of envelopes that were just over 4x6-- I think it was like 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 or something? I don't remember what they were called (they had a specific name), but I found them at Walmart at the same price as all of the other boxes of envelopes (I think I paid like $3.50something)... they had them in white, cream, or multicolored.

Found the box... they were called Social Envelopes, 4 3/4" by 6 1/2", and they were closer to $4.30 for 50 of them.

Here is my card. I had it printed 5x7 with rounded corners on pearl card stock, which is really pretty and shimmery.
