So Im working on a LO right now and using photo collages that are 4x6 in size and using several on a 12x12 LO. Im doing a combination of pictures and patterned papers. If you have a small space that you are clipping a BG paper to- do you shrink the BG paper so the pattern of the paper is a lot smaller than its original size?

I've done that and Im happy with the results but I was thinking if I was paper scrapping and needed a small bit of paper to fill a small space- I would have to use the paper at original size and not shrink it down. I shrink it down so more of the pattern is visible.

Anyways- does that make any sense? What do you all do in a situation like this?

That's why I love digital - so many cool tricks you can't do with paper :)
For me, it depends on the pattern...if it's already on the small side I leave it as is, but if it's a big pattern I totally shrink it down

I get what you are saying. I sometimes shrink, sometimes not - just depends on how I think it looks. Really large patterns that I love I usually shrink so I can see more of it. But, like you said, if you were paper scrapping you couldn't do that. I just think of it as the benefit of digi!

I'm the same as Erica. Sometimes I shrink it, sometimes not. Just depends on the mood. :)

It depends on the look I am going for. If the pattern is already small scale, I usually leave it as is, if it is a larger scale pattern I may shrink it down. I usually clip the paper to the shape and then move it or shrink until I like it.

Yup, one of the many conveniences of digi. Even when working on a 12x12 LO I sometimes shrink a paper so more of the pattern shows on a clipped shape.

I do this very same thing. If the paper is dots or stripes I usually leave it as is. If it is a larger pattern that would not show much then I shrink it down. Love digi!

I shrink nearly all patterns unless I am using it on a 12x12 page background then obviously I cannot really shrink it. But I love the patterned paper so much that I want most of it to be seen.

I usually shrink mine anywhere from about 60% to 40% depending on the size of the pattern and the size of the paper I'm clipping it too!!!

It depends on the look I'm going for, but I'll definitely shrink a paper to get the bit of it that I want!
