I love the simplicity of them but after you print the pages how do you present them? For some reason I am having a total mental block on how to give them as a gift....

You could have them bound along the top edge, or find an acrylic stand alone frame and pop the first page in that, and leave the rest tied with a ribbon in a pretty box.
We have these at our dollar store:

Oh good idea Jacinda - I haven't seen those kind of frames around in forever. I'll have to check the dollar stores here.
I use those clear plastic frames too. I make one of these calendars for my hubby every year for him to take to work. He loves them.

I'm making one for my sister for her desk at work - I will have to be on the look out for those frames from now on!

you can also just sure a regular 5x7 frame, as long as it is designed to sit on a table. that's what I use for mine.

I make my own stand out of cardboard for my hubby... take a long piece of cardboard and fold it into a triangle...

You can get 5X7 magnetic slip in frames at places like Hobby Lobby or sometimes Walmart.

I used a regular 5x7" frame for my dad's calendar last year. In the past I used an acrylic frame from the dollar store. :)
