View Full Version : Pregnancy related...
Wondering, has any of you during a pregnancy experienced a sore cervix? Dude. It hurts so much. It is so hard for me to sit down for a long time, getting in the way of my designing. Grrr. Sorry if this is too much info for some of you. I am just wondering what the soreness is caused by. Any of you know? This is my fifth baby and I feel it with this one and felt it with baby #3 and #4.

I felt that with my daughter baby number 3 for me, honestly I think it's partly from just having so many kids and from the way the baby is positioned and pushing on everything. If it keeps up I would call your OB and ask them about it and see if there is anything you can do to help alleviate the pain other than Tylenol which always did nothing for me pain wise...
Thanks so much Kim! I'm in so much pain, I can barely walk.

Yeah if you are in that much pain I would totally call them not being able to walk or sit is WAY more pain than you should have to endure.

I have an incompetent cervix meaning that mine will dilate early and I can't carry a pregnancy full term without having my cervix stitched shut. Anyway, I had a sore cervix with both of my babies, but it could have well been due to the cerclage I had in place. However, my kids were also both breech babies who sat and kicked my cervix, a lot.

I had a lot of groin pain with Grace, baby #2, mostly the end of the 2nd trimester and into my 3rd... I felt like she was tearing my hips in half down in the cervical area. OW. It usually only hurt towards the end of the day if I did a lot of sitting in one position or walking. My doctor suggested plenty of warm baths (I would sometimes take 3 a day) and I got one of those microwavable buckwheat & lavender pillows that you can use on your neck to ease pain... and I literally sat on it. That helped.

I had a lot of pain down there with my second and the OB had me get one of those pregnancy bands. It worked all right, but also causes the I can't have anything constraining my belly discomfort. I found that sitting and laying helped the best. My kitchen stools were my best friends.
would a belly band help? just to support the baby and maybe there wouldnt be so much pressure??

I'm another who had an incompetent cervix so I'd be paranoid about that. I would definitely see a dr. since it's so painful! however, I have heard from friends who have 3+ kids that it is normal. Would still be scary/worrisome.

Oh, I missed the hard sitting part. You can also try pulling out your Bumbo. I couldn't spend much time sitting either pregnancy because of my blood pressure.

I had a ton of pain in my groin and used an exercise ball a lot, and did a lot of pelvic tilts (pregnancy pushups) to help build the muscles - but I'd definitely suggest a belly band, too.

I also have 5 babies and it sound to me like you have symphysis pubis dysfunction. There isn't much that can be done for it (and I still get it to this day if I exercise hard and for long amounts of time and my 5th baby just turned 3 in Sept) but there are exercises you can do and a pelvic support belt/brace can help!!!
Here is a good article about it!!!

Hope you get some relief soon!!! :hugs:
