Yes I hate this program. I can do multiple layouts in one day and it works great. Then another day with no warning it will just crash. Ill get a message saying it has stopped working and then it will just close. So Im kinda thinking about going back to a previous version but I also like some of the features on X5. Ive tried updating it and it seemed to help but now it is doing it again. SO the layout I was working on for three hours is gone. Blah :thumbdown::thumbdown:

Eesh! PSP can be such a pain, but it is the pain I know best so I stick with it. Not ready to upgrade though. That is a whole different kind of hurt. The thing that makes me nuts is how I can't work on a big 12x12 project with out the entire "not enough memory" message. I like scrapping at 8x8, but I want all my options available to me!! I've been thinking about trying Photoshop for the last three years, but I am flat out scared to start over with a new program.

Good luck Jessica. DO you have auto save on? Auto save has saved me a few times. ;)

No but Corel added a new feature (at least Im pretty sure it is new to X5) of auto preserve. Only it didnt auto preserve this layout and it does it so randomly. I need to set the auto save though since it does crash. It hasnt crashed since I downloaded the upgrade so I thought it was fixed.

And I am sticking with PSP for two reasons...the cost and I have been using it for various things since 2001 when I got my first computer. I think I had like 6 or 7 maybe?

Yeah, I have been using it since 2005. Hard to switch, which is why I have not done it. :)

I've stuck with x3 because x5 was crashing during the demo. I hve CS3 but I can't get it to resize the way psp does, with the whole frame redrawing & it drives me buggy, plus a few other things so I'm keeping my psp. :)

i used corel draw back then and even when i got used to it, i hated all the bugs it had. it took me quite a while to say yes to photoshop because i thought it would be so complicated but it is really not. and pse is quite affordable, too.

I just bought X5 but hadn't put it on my computer yet. I have tried PSE (actually I use it for running actions), but I hate it for scrapping.

*cough* im still using psp 9 *cough*

I have CS5 but im terrified of it. I dont even have it installed at the moment because it was like looking at a foreign language. It would take me ages to be able to do a page in it quickly, without having a complete meltdown, so i decided i just dont care. My Psp 9 makes pages good enough for me and the time i want to spend, so i just stick with it. Im sure the day is not far off tho, when windows will become too advanced and wont be able to run that version and i'll be forced to upgrade.

Lani I have used PSPXI (kinda loved it...but it was the one I learned on specifically to do scrapbooing so I had some issues with it as I was learning a new program and a new craft at the same time). It was pretty good IMO. Switched to PSPX3. Liked it a lot. Then my new computer came with PSPx4 which I liked did not have all the crash issues this one does. I bought PSPX5 because I found a really great sale on upgrade with a disk included but did not install it right away. When I did I found lot of bigs and like I said it ceashes just randomly. It was when I would go to save the file. But then this time it crashed when I went to merge all layers. So I dont know what it is. It is a finicky program for sure LOL

That's how I feel as well. I love PSP (I think I'm using X4...can't remember) even when it's being quirky. I've gotten around the random closing or out of memory issues by saving the layout I'm working on and closing the whole program every once and a while if it's a large, multi-layered layout. That seems to help out. It's a little irksome to stop and close and reopen the program mid-layout but I think it's better to do it on my terms rather than the program taking it upon itself and closing or giving the out of memory message.
