Any suggestions on how to avoid milk blisters?
My right breast has been plauged by them almost nonstop since Harper was born. I haven't had any on the left side.
Any tips on treating them?

Im not sure what you are taling about but my daughter is nursing and says it is so painful because her daughter's latch is a bit off so she uses these:

and uses this ointment as well

She says they both help and Austyn is now 3 months and a week. She had to have her lip clipped at about a month and a half because it was "tied" which basically just meant it did not flange out far enough.

For chapping I always used Lansinoh! It worked really well.

Try a different hold? I haven't gotten one in a while but I would usually get one when Landon latched incorrectly. Have you checked kellymom.com for any suggestions? I love that site! Good luck - I know how painful those can be!

Ok, I found this... http://www.breastfeeding-problems.com/milk-blister.html ...which might help you. That's pretty much what I did when I had them.
I also found that I got these when DS was super-duper hungry and was sucking pretty feverishly when he first latched on. I got them with DD because she had a bad latch. Maybe that breast has less supply causing him to latch differently, or too much supply and that's causing some problems because he's closing his mouth? If you think it's oversupply, try making sure to nurse more frequently on the left side. My righty was always my "good side" for some reason, and DS loved it but it made DD feel like she was drowning so she'd kind of bite to keep the milk flow slower. I had lots of soreness, clogged milk ducts, and mastisis on that side.
ETA:
Try lanolin, or just spread some milk over the area and let air dry! :D And, the Football Hold was a relief sometimes. Try changing positions to give the sore areas relief.

My little guy is 8 but I experienced a few painful weeks when I first started nursing...you could try changing the position and using Lansinoh. To be honest they only helped a tad bit but after about a month and a half I didn't have any problems...I think it took time for both of us to get used to the nursing thing...

Thanks girls! Brook, that link is great.
I gotta be honest... I used a needle! It worked! Run it through a flame first or clean it with alcohol to sterilize it before you do it though.

Owwie. I got those with Zach, but that was 8 1/2 years ago and for the life of me I can't remember what I did about them. My problem now is bruises from biting. lol
