I've been a blonde/dark blonde all my life, but if I were to let it go now, it would be a medium brown. And I have a gray streak over my left eye that would leave me looking like the bride of Frankenstein, or is it Lily Munster? Anyway, when I was 6 my mom cut 22 inches off my hair. She saved it and I recently brought it home with me. Just by chance, my hair color now matches it exactly. :)
I've always wanted to do a purple streak in my hair, but I'm just too old. I missed the time to do it.

I haven't colored my hair since I was in my 20's and I was working... when I was in my twenties, my hair was really mousy brown colored, so I added redish highlights... now in my 30's (or end of)... my copper highlights are finally coming back like when I was a teen... but I'm starting to get gray hair and I don't like it! :glare:

It's pretty much my natural color now. Of course I have to dye all the gray to get it that way! The hair stylist says it's about 85 to 90% gray but my roots are the only way to tell it.
I frosted it heavily with blonde once, awful. I went red for a while because my ex-husband thought it would be more exciting... I was young and stupid then. People with my coloring can't go red, NOTHING went well, clothes, makeup, nothing.

Yep, I am one of those crazy people who has a new hair color every few months or so. Its fun to me. I can't go to crazy thanks to the air force reg that requires me to have 'natural colored' hair. When I retire, even though I will be in my 40s, I will put in some crayon red streaks right away. My natural hair color is a light/medium brown with red undertones.

It all started waaaay back with Sun-In. :p Then I screwed my hair up royally and it was yellow-ish so I decided to get official highlights. Then the highlights started taking over my whole head and I had to do a base color + highlights. Then I paid lots of $$ for lots of years. Eventually I started coloring it myself, but after I had Ben I decided to grow my hair long. And, there was an incident where I turned my hair green.
Now I have finally grown out most of the hair that has been highlighted, so I'm able to get it colored my natural color... a nice dark chocolatey brown. It's my "real" color, so I only need to dye it every 6 months because the ends tend to get brassy.

I have a mousy brown color and most of the time I put color on it and then don't do anything with it for another 18 months LOL....just too cheap! Luckily I don't have any gray YET :D but I recently colored it back in Nov a dark reddish color and got bangs and I LOVE it...I have an appt to get it done again in Feb and I can't wait!!!!

I dye mine. I no long have any idea what my natural color is as I've been dying it longer than I ever had it natural. I prefer to just think of the pretty red I pick out is my natural color. :)
And you're welcome for putting this thought into your head. ;) But you started it. :P

I'm all natural. I love my hair color and I love my curly hair. I'm hoping to age gracefully into the grays because I don't think I could handle looking at myself with fake red hair, since my color doesn't come in a bottle.

I've never colored my hair (not counting some DIY highlights when I was in college that didn't show anyway). It's naturally so dark that I always thought I'd look silly if I tried to go lighter. I'm just starting to get a little gray. It isn't enough for me to do anything about it yet, but I'm sure my time is coming.

Well, thanks Laura. :) But I swear in my circle of friends, I would be looked at like I had 2 heads with purple streaks. ;) Not that I care that much, but I just don't think my traditional way of dressing, etc. can mesh with a purple streak. But who knows...maybe I need to put it where my gray streak is.
Mine is natural right now, but I'm gonna go get some subtle highlights put in soon. I pretty much don't color my hair . . . I've only had highlights one other time before now.

I have died it....went mega blonde for a few years.
I have natural strawberry blonde hair that naturally highlights in the summer. I do highlight my hair about every 3 years but am starting to get some gray so I may have to do it sooner than later!!!

Yes. My color is a flat, mousy brown. I dye it to be a little more golden/red. People have said it looks natural. Go, Nice & Easy! LOL!

I've always hated my hair color and used to dye it red when I was in my twenties. It became low priority for me (along with regular haircuts..lol) after I had DD. Of course I've got some gray now, and DH is trying to convince me to start dying it again...maybe he doesn't want people to know he married himself an old broad (I'm 2 years older than him).

I'm so jealous of those of you with no grey hair - I started getting grey hairs when I was still in my early 20s in college.
Other than a few months towards the end of our year in Korea (because I was too scared to get it colored there), I haven't had my true natural hair color since high school. I've always had some kind of highlights or color going on. Naturally my hair is a really really dark brown with subtle red undertones which doesn't do anything for my pale skin tone. So I dye it mostly to richen and warm up the color so I don't look like a ghost (well and cover the greys now). :D Lately I've been doing various shades of auburn which I really love.

My hair color is mostly natural. In the summers, it always has these really awesome highlights. Well, since I now work in a basement and don't see near as much sunshine, I have to get my highlights a couple times a year. Otherwise, my hair is just a boring dirty blond color.

My husband hates "fake", so I've been natural ever since we got married, which is like a light brown. I have always told him that once I started going gray, I would go back to the blond of my youth. That day is fast approaching...

I dye. If I didn't, pretty sure I would be completely gray. :'(
Right now it's a dark 'spice' brown, so has some reddish tint to it. At the beginning of the month I had my sister add highlights, but it didn't cover the gray. It usually varies from month to month, I try to go a bit darker in the winter and lighter in the summer.
Naturally I am medium to dark brown, and a whole lot of gray!

The picture in my avatar is natural since it was taken in September and my hair lightens naturally during the summer. Once November rolls around I do dye my hair back to it's natural color because once the sun-bleached hair starts to fade I get roots anyway! It's so annoying! I don't have too many greys (even at 50) which is a nice benefit of being fairly blonde, but I do have a few around the area of my bangs.

I have to dye, because otherwise I'd be grey. I started having white hair in my early 20s or maybe even before that - it's genetic, Mum had it the same way.
I used to experiment, but now I prefer to dye my hair as close to my natural colour as possible - which would be kinda chestnut brown.

i had been dyeing my hair since my early teens and i went crazy with color. i was the one that people either didn't recognize because i had 3 different colors in a week or they recognized me fast because i had blue, green, purple, red... whatever.
for about half a year now i am trying to not dye it. my natural color is a dark blonde with greyish undertones. i start having a little grey and it is allright for me now.
don't know what i will come up with in the next months. i want to grow the dye out big time before i do something else.

Mine has always been natural...I'm strawberry blonde but it has darkened some as I've gotten older. So far I haven't noticed any gray and I'm 38. It may be that it just blends in right now.

My natural color is a medium blonde, but obviously I lighten it.
The box says I am "Lightest Natural Blonde" :) I have used the same color for years only straying from between a 9, 9-1/2 and 10. So Light, Lightest or Extra Light Blonde. I'm such a rebel. LOL!
I would love to do something completely different, but I honestly don't think I could pull off a darker color. I have a friend who recently went really dark after being blonde and after two weeks she is now in the process of trying to get it back. I'm scared that would be me.

I used to, but stopped when I got married cause money has been so so tight. I had my sister do it before I got family pictures done, so about once a year. It had grown out so much that when I chopped it all off, all the color came off too, leaving me with only my natural hair color. I love it! It is really really dark though. Anyways, the color was as hard to get used to as the cut. I don't have any gray yet and dread the day cause then I'll start dying it again...probably.

I add highlights - otherwise I would be a dirty blonde. And the grays are definitely starting to show around my temples :( Wish I was like my Mom - at 60 her hair is still pretty blonde! Dad's side of the family goes gray pretty young.

I've never dyed my hair. I had highlights put in once, for my 35th birthday. They were blonde highlights and they lasted, literally, almost 2 years. They never faded out, just grew out and even as they were growing out they looked fine as I've often had natural blonde highlights in my hair over the years (sun typically).
I started getting white hairs when I was a teenager. Mine aren't grey, but snow white instead. I have quite a few at this point in my life (I'm almost 39) but they are dispersed in such a way that it looks like I have highlights. I can't complain about that. :)

I have a TON of gray!!! It's actually really horrid and it embarrasses me so bad (I'm only 39). I color my hair fairly regularly and have for about the last 4 years. My hair is naturally dark brown with auburn highlights, I try to stay with that for my color but really I just grab one that is brownish and color!!! :D :D

My hair is a sort of medium mouse brown with natural red gold highlights in the summer. And This time of year I sometimes put red highlights in or purple, but the purple doesn't show up very much on it's own. I'd need to bleach first & I refuse to bleach my hair. I used to color my hair in my 20s but gave it up when I turned 30 & have only just highlighted occasionally in the 15 years since then.
And of course there is the grey, mostly its near my neck & behind my ears so the rest of my hair covers it but there is some around my face & when I have my hair pulled back it's more noticeable. I don't mind it.

I'm fairly sure my natural hair color is the darkish brown that Abby's hair is turning. Mine now is dark dark.. it's growing out and I need to recolor it though. I go darker with low lights in the winter and lighter w/ hilites in the summer.

I dye mine a warmer shade of my natural color to hide the gray and brighten up my ghostly complexion. I add highlights to make me feel saucy, either Carmel or red depending on my mood or sometimes both when I want to be spicy or can't make up my mind. Lol
