They look like fruit bars taped to the top of the body, or fruit roll ups like Kate said.

oooh you should do pretzel sicks like brittney did!

(suggesting that cause we don't let lucas have foods with colors and i imagine there are a few kids in each class like that too)

I know it's not as healthy but I've seen them with smartie rolls on the sides too..

I'm pretty sure you can get fruit roll-up types of things without artificial colors. Pretzel rods would work, too, and would probably be less expensive ;). Is this something you're bringing into school?

Kristin, unfortunately there don't seem to be a lot of parents in my kids' school that pay attention to things like artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners. I try to keep my kids from eating them, too, but it's hard.

Thanks ladies!!! I thought maybe fruit rolls up but I wasn't sure since I thought those came in white packages!!! :D

I'm running to the store in a bit so I'm gonna look at all those options...even the smarties one Meg...but those are my favorite candy and really everything else I'm gonna get is healthy....a little candy won't hurt them!!! ;) :D :D

yea.. it is hard isn't it :( lucas reacts to them and so we're pretty strict about it but sometimes there will be things we forget to check that you wouldn't even think has that stuff in it :(

Yes Kate it is for school (a preschool) and while they don't restrict snacks (our public school does....very very strict) I still wanted to take something healthy and FUN!!! I know our Aldi's carries fruit strips that are all natural so I could always grab those!!!

None of the schools in our area restrict snacks. Peanut butter is fair game even. I always avoid it just in case, but many still bring in PB cookies and such for treats. Those are cute... Hmmm... maybe I should do that for my son's class for Valentine's Day.

You could use cheese sticks, too. A little protein in the mix to buffer all that sugar wouldn't be a bad thing ;)

We have to be careful of all the allergies in our classes and the restrictions from the school. Peanut butter and coconut were out and they frowned on candy/sweets. My kids are lactose so I chose the pretzels. The kids in my sons class were dunking them in the applesauce. Crazy lil kindergartners. :)

Thanks ladies!!! I went ahead with some mini fruit rolls ups I found in the Valentine's isle, if there are kids that don't want them or can't eat them there is still plenty of all natural stuff to choose from!! I do like the pretzel stick idea but I'm weird about my kids eating already opened stuff so I try not to send stuff like that in!!! :D :D

Those are adorable. If anyone was thinking pretzel sticks, how would you attach them?

In the picture that Brittney posted, it looks like she wrapped them together in plastic wrap with enough separation to have them hang on either side of the juice box.

That's exactly how we did it. And I pieced all the pieces together with glue dots so it was easy for the kids to take apart on their own. :)
