your kids discover them?
Cooper loves Skylanders Giants, Keira got her first American Girl Doll & Monster High Dolls for Christmas and I feel like I've become just as obsessed as they are.
I was so excited today when I went to Toys R Us and found a 3 pack of the Monster High dolls and had to get it for Keira's birthday! LOL! I feel like everytime I'm at the store now I'm looking for MH or Skylanders they don't have.
I havent yet...but DH is getting this way with our daughter's lego. I am alright with it because its something he actually likes to do with her, that doesnt involve taking her to a sporting event! LOL

Yes! Every time L.J. gets into another Lego theme, I go crazy making sure he has all of the character minifigs.

hahaha... yeah, that is why we have FIVE stuffed lambs... all the same brand, but they all have different personalities... ;)
Oh, I'm that way with a lot of things - not only toys! haha... My son - who is only 5, , liked the Who was Albert Einstein book... so it became my mission to find as many "who was" books out there... haha. He reads really well for 5... but the subject level is a bit above him, though... but I caught my hubby reading the one on Who was Thomas Edison... :D

Oh yes - Hayley was into squinkies and everywhere we went and found new ones - I felt like I scored! Nevermind that she has hundreds at home! The Disney Princesses are a huge hit with both girls and we are always on a hunt to find Beauty (for Amy) and Rapunzel (for Hayley). Same rush for these - just feel like we scored when we find something new! lol....

Me too..but only if it's things they really love to play with. When Avery was younger it was his Thomas Trains and die cast Cars. I bet we spent a shameful amount of money on those things but he loved them so much. Now it's legos for him...he was in a Ninjago phase for a while and now it's Star Wars. Legos are so expensive though so I try to only get him those on special occasions unless he saves his allowance.
Ella hasn't really settled on one thing she loves. She kind of likes Littlest Pet Shop and My little Pony but she can take them or leave them. I can't wait til she starts to love barbies though b/c I LOVED barbies growing up.
Oh and they are both obsessed with those plush angry birds..I think we have about 30 of them. Shameful I know but they play with those things every single day.

OH yes. Kennedy is only 2 and already obsessed with Disney stuff....mainly Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Toy Story and Rapunzel...so whenever we are out we look for anything that will go with these. Oh and UmiZoomi.
Ok so she is kinda obsessed with a lot of stuff, but I can tell when she really likes something or just wants to play with it for a minute and then that's it. I have no shame being obsessed with the stuff either lol
And it stems to my niece....she loves Doc Mcstuffins and anytime I'm out I look for the toys or anything Doc related.

DH and I both love to collect things...so we totally latch on to the kids obsessions. At one point I was searching e-bay to collect a ton of the Cars dinky cars. We have all the Skylanders from the first set, and only need a few more Giants. We are more obsessed than the kids.

Totally! LOL! I love the toy store almost more than they do.
When Ben was 2 he was so into the Pixar cars. I collected the whole set for him. We still have them even though he doesn't play with them anymore. ;) I also found it fun to collect a fine set of wooden Thomas Trains when he was into those. That's an heirloom toy I will always keep. Someday it will be at my house when the kids grow up... 'Grandma's set of trains".
I don't do it as much these days because the kids are so varied in their interests and I don't want to overwhelm them with too much new stuff. I'd say the only thing we consistently buy now is Lego & Playmobil.

Keira was really into the princesses for ever, she has all of those & most of the matching princes. She liked those more than barbies I think.

We had every Pixar car they put out through 2011 I think and it was as much my wanting them as the boys. :D We also had nearly all the Take Along style Thomas the Tank Engine trains as well for the same reason.
My blog is known for the dino & Clone Trooper photos for the same reason. I haven't gotten into the Skylander thing as much though.

I do it, too. One of the reasons my kid has WAY too much toys.

I bought my son a 'Marble Race' when he was about 3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that thing. He doesn't play with it much now that he's bigger, but I still pull it out!
I think I also like my son's build--a-bear more then he does too. It's so much fun to sew little outfits for him from my scraps!
Also, my sister bought herself her very own American Girl doll!

I totally think this way, too!! All of Jake's wooden toys... his trains, melissa and doug food (that I became more obsessed with in playing with then he did)... those will be kept for when there are grandkids. I'll also keep all the pixar cars... we have loads of those too. He has been so obsessed with them since he was 3... and it's what finally got him excited about potty training.
He also has almost all the tag along Thomas trains, too... my dad is a HUGE collector of things... he got Jake all the tag along trains. It's one of the reasons why I can be *somewhat* okay if we only end up with one kid... if we had another, we would have to either add onto the house or rent a storage unit!

It is SO tempting to do this.... but I don't. I learned early on that my kids switch obsessions quite often and I just don't have the time or money to spend looking for that elusive toy. If there ends up being something they like for a really long time then I tend to try and fill in the gaps with things but that doesn't happen often. Legos, for example, are something both my kids love but they don't collect any specific series or character sets. They like them all.
Years ago, long before kids, I had my fill of collecting. I used to collect everything. The only collection I have left from all those years ago are Tender Tails. These were the Precious Moments (Enesco) version of Beanie Babies. They are totally adorable and there were a ton of animals. It started with a simple pink pig (since I collected pink pig stuff at the time) and just exploded. I got really into getting all of the elusive limited edition ones and DH helped me. We spent a small fortune on those things. Now they are residing in a storage tub out in the shed. I just don't know what to do with them. I should just give them away (and I have given some away) but it just hurts my heart that we spent so much on them and they aren't worth anything now. No one cares that my giraffe one was an exclusive and that my DH paid $65 for the darn thing. Nope. It might fetch $1 at a yard sale or consignment store, only because it is new with tag. LOL
