Now that there are these awesome deals for Silhouette's for the next week, I'm actually considering getting one. But I have a dilemma, I only have a laser printer at home so I would have to buy a printer, too.
Can you recommend any good printers to use with a Silhouette? I'd love to have a wireless one just because it seems like everything is moving that direction but ink cost and how often you have to change them is more important.
Also, Cameo or Portrait? Do you like what you have or wish you had the other because you need more/less size or features?
Because I DEFINITELY need more scrap stuff in my house...

I use my laser printer with my silhouette all the time. Mine prints color and beautifully so it works great. I'd buy my printer again- the HP CP1525nw color laser.
I won the portrait in a contest and I think as long as you don't NEED to do stuff in 12x12 format, you can get away with the portrait.
where are the deals you found? I have been wanting one for a while, and just sold my cricut...
I have an epson 435 printer/scanner. It only cost me $50, but I bought it more for work/office printing and havent tried photos/full color pages on it yet.

i have a portrait as well. and i agree with jennifer- if you don't need the 12x12 capability, the portrait will be fine.

Can't you do the digital download of the Designer Edition Software? That's what I did so I could have it right away. You just put it in your cart and after purchasing they'll give you a code to enter into the regular software that will upgrade it.

Yes I could do that, but I want an actual machine too, and they wont ship here. There are some great bundles on sale too, with the machine and software together.

the silhouette does not print anything, only cuts, or if you have the pens, draws. you still have to print things on your regular printer unless you are just cutting thing out of cardstock, etc.

the silhouette is basically a cutting machine. with the software, you can trace things like digital elements, shapes, fonts, etc. to create your own cut files.
the blog has some good examples

so does the website
