So, when you use these, do you add shadows to the layers? I'm using these right now:

In particular the one that says, "Five Things I Love". You can see how the sample is not shadowed, and in the example layouts, no one used shadows on the layers. But when I look at mine, I feel like it needs shadows.

So I want to know what you girls think and what you do when you use them.

I've seen them used both ways, I prefer no shadow, depending on what you're shadowing, sometimes is looks strange :) If it is something in the middle of the card, I might shadow it, like the outer small circle on the "you and me" card, then it looks like a label on the card or something, but stuff at the edges I don't.
I think your card looks great, especially once you put a shadow on the card itself :)

Well, that's enough for me. Cindy said it looks good. : )

I haven't been shadowing them, but I feel like the little arrow and circle at the top and the long strip of paper have been subliminally asking for a small shadow. It's just that I want to do things the "right" way, and I needed encouragement to kick those little pieces to the curb.

I think you COULD add a shadow to the circle and the arrow, but I wouldn't shadow the numbers. I might even shadow the "this week" box at the bottom if I were feeling adventurous. I mean in a tangible paper layout, you could have added those items as embellishments on the card. So it wouldn't look bad to shadow them, just depends on the look you are going for. :)

I would probably lightly shadow the arrow pointer, the '5' circle at the top, and the 'this week' at the bottom.

Aren't her cards the best?! Totally my favorite PL product at the moment.

I used one here and shadowed the speech bubble so it would look like a separate element:

I'm loving your pages, LeeAndra! I definitely like the shadow on your speech bubble.

Thanks for this thread Kellie. I've often wondered the same thing. I think I shadowed where I shouldn't have on a few! I knew it was "wrong" when I was doing it because Cindy always includes shadows where appropriate but I couldn't stop myself on a few!

Amy, there is really no right or wrong way of using these, it's just more of a personal preference!! :)

I've wondered about this too and gone back to check out the examples tons of times! LOL similar to what's been said here, I've added shadow to some.

Here, I added shadow to quotes and to alpha (modified the title from Story of the Day to Recipe of the Day)

On this one, didn't use any shadows:

I have to check mine... I'm pretty sure I don't shadow mine... or I give it a really little one, if I do
