Since my darn printer is broken.... grrrr

I want to try Costco. I am doing the scallop album. So, I have 16 pages. Should I be able to fit 6 pages on one 12x18? Anything special I need to do to make sure this stuff prints right? Any help is appreciated!

I've only printed 8x8 through Scrapbookpictures.com or at home so I'm easily confused with this Costco printing...

When I printed 12x18 enlargements at Costco, I would create a new 12x18 document in PS and plop 2 8x8 LOs and several regular-sized photos around the edges. If there's room...I try to move the LOs away from the edges JIC it gets printed a little crooked or there's some edge cut off. I've never had a problem...but JIC.

So what size are you printing? You WON'T be able to fit 6, 8x8s on ONE 12x18 though.

oh...ok...I see that the scallop albums are approximately 6x6 so 6 of those should fit on a 12x18.

Yeah, they are 6 x 6. I figured I could fit 6 but I really don't want to mess this up. Thank you Karen!!!

Arrrrhhhhh!!! Now when I upload my 12x18's, Costco's software says my resolution is too low. However, I made my 12x18's at 300 dpi and saved all of my pages at maximum jpg levels... what have I done wrong?

I haven't printed at Costco for years...but I remember someone mentioning that when they went to the photo center at Costco the person actually told them that they recommend 320 dpi! I'm not really sure as I haven't heard it personally.

ETA = I've only ever used 300 and have been fine. Maybe you can call your local Costco and ask them?

actually I think what happens is when you upload it asks if you want quicker upload or larger photos for enlargements....

choose the larger photos

another thing to choose when checking out is make sure the AUTO CORRECT feature is turned OFF (It is autoamtically turned ON)

I think they do a great job...

Mine were ready in 15 minutes after uploading (expect I duplicate two of my photos....) so will have to glue everything but those two photos down and get them printed later this week!!

GOOD LUCK.... I think they do a great job!!!

Well, I went to pick them up and... I tried cramming too many on one page I think. The scallops were cut off around all of the edges. So, they didn't make me pay for them. However, the quality was FABULOUS! I will be resending my order again... hopefully I will have them done right this time...
