boys layouts or girl layouts?

I realize that some don't scrap both so can't answer but for those that can. :)

Is your answer different than what you buy more of?

I have two boys, so I don't get to scrap girls very often, but I have a feeling I would really love to scrap girls on a regular basis, since I've become very girly as I age, lol. Right now, I almost feel lost when I do have a girl page to make, but I think it's just because I'm not in the mindset.

I honestly have gotten away from buying "boy" and "girl" kits , but lately I have been doing more LO's of Peyton (Boy) than Abby, but if it has a color or theme I like I can make it fit a boy or girl LO :)

I have two girls so most of my layouts are girly. Even when I scrap family layouts that includes hubby it is still using girly kits.

I find it easier to scrap with girly kits so I use them more (and I use them for layouts of both Grace and Ben) but I find myself picking up more boy kits because I have the intention to use them.

I only have girls but I love scrapping with boy kits.

I find it easier to scrap girl LOs. I think it's because so many kits use flowers as embellishments. My sons don't like flowers on their pages, so I try to avoid them. As a go-to, non-themed element, there just isn't anything as versatile or varied as flowers. That said, I think I scrap all 3 kids about equally; when I don't it's because the boys don't let me take their pictures as often.

As for buying, I probably buy more "boy" themed or gender neutral kits than I do girl kits. It's harder to find boy-appropriate kits I love than girl kits I love (and easier to scrap a girl with a boy kit than vice versa, IMO), so when I see a good boy kit I feel like I have to snatch it up. Funny thing is, because of that mindset I have a lot more boy kits and sometimes have a hard time finding a girly kit I want to use in my stash.

I find it easier to scrap with boy kits, unfortunately it turns out all the designers want me to use girl ones. lol

Well, since I don't have children, I think all my layouts are girly. I always have flowers on my pages! lol.

I love girlie pages even though I don't get to scrap many. Im glad I have an adorable niece so I can use girlie kits!

Neither. I prefer to keep my pages neutral and like kits that are neutral as well.

I love doing girly pages of my daughter but I enjoy scrapping photos of my nephews whenever I can or using boy kits for pages about my dd or fam. Every now and then a break is needed from all the pink. :)

Girlie pages frighten me.
^^^This.

I used to be girly when I was young, but am SO not now. I don't wear flowery prints or ruffles, etc. But I've been scrapping boys for 15 years, so it's hard to be objective.

I have 2 girls, so most of my pages are girly. I find it easier to do girly pages because I love the colours and the FLOWERS. Gotta have flowers. It's definitely more of a challenge when I scrap my nephews or my hubby.

With one of each I try to keep it balanced. I seem to go back and forth... I find it easy to do girly layouts one month, the next month I favor the boyish ones. :)

I have one niece and one nephew, and probably lean toward liking to scrap with the girlier stuff. But I've always been able to mix and match pretty easily and can scrap for my niece using boy-ish kits or neutral colours.

Girl LO's, because I'm addicted to huge amounts of FLOWERS (and the girly kits usually have more of these and the more interesting ones), and I have a thing for the typical colors, too... but, I'll admit to an embarrassing secret, only here, to you: I often scrap pictures of my boys with girly kits. Because I decide which kit I use solely based on my mood, and sometimes, there are pictures of my sons that fit the flowery girl-kits very much... I hope they forgive me when they're older, so far, they haven't complained.
Lately, I tend to buy more neutral colors, a great compromise is orange... I love orange. But I still put all these frilly flowers on my pages...

I don't really have a preference. I like to do what works for the pictures/event I'm scrapping. I have two girls but I wouldn't say I do tons of girly LOs. If they are, say, swinging on a swing set, then the LO will be fun and play-y, not girly. But maybe I just don't realise how girly I am!

I really do not like the color pink, so I stay away from those kits in general... good thing I only have a boy, huh? :D

I mostly scrap girl pages since my scrapping revolves around me, my daughter, and my granddaughter.

I do have an adult son and I scrap a page about him occasionally but I haven't scrapped any photos of him growing up since they are very pre-digital camera and have to be scanned plus I lost a ton of his kid photos in a flood years ago :crying:

I will be scrapping boy photos soon though since I have a grandson due in August... the thought of scrapping boy pages SCARES me!!! :D

With two boys, I scrap them the most but I love doing pages about myself because then I can justify all of the girly kits I buy :) My fingers are crossed for a girl baby when my grandchild is born in October. I think that girl kits just have more options - not limited by color schemes, elements, etc. The boy kits that are out there seem to be the same things and once I have a few good ones, I don't buy others.

I like to scrap both because I have 4 boys and 1 girl...Though I seem to always stay with the very light colored kits. Nothing crazy or bright.

I love gurl layouts better because they have flowers, butterflies, glitter, etc etc. Even though I look like a semi-mature respectable 33-year-old lady on the OUTSIDE, I am (and always will be, I'm afraid) a beflowered bebutterflied beglittered 14-year-old gurl on the inside. :p:wub:

I try to do an even spread of boy/girl pages, since I have both, but I probably lean slightly more towards girly pages. I love the colours, and find it hard not to use flowers and girly elements!

I think girl pages are easier for me because I've done it for YEARS. And flowers are much easier for me to place than other elements (so a lot of my boy pages still have flowers!). And because there are so many more girl kits out there. Having said that, I find it REALLY exciting to make a boy page because it is different for me and I absolutely LOVE how they turn out!

GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! Even though pink isn't really "my" color, I love the versatility of using flowers; I always felt like I was at a loss for a comparable "boy" element.

I scrap both and always use boy kits for girl pages and vice versa. Wes is totally used to having flowers all over his pictures. hehe

I would give anything to scrap pictures of a little girl....but since I have 4 boys that won't be happening!!! I am ok scrapping boy layouts...I still add flowers and some pink!!!

With one of each, I do scrap both. When I scrap about me they are a little more feminine though so I probably do just a little bit more girly. I'm not sure mine are all really gender specific though.

I agree with a lot of the comments on flowers. I really love flowers in my layouts, and I think flowers can be tricky in boy layouts (not that I don't use them anyway sometimes!) I love finding boy kits that have unique boy embellishments for pages with my two sons. But even though I love scrapping about them, I can't lie... I like scrapping pages with my daughter more... something about those girl colors and FLOWERS!! :)

I have a boy and a girl. I've done some of each, but after really looking through my layouts, I don't do heavily gendered pages, I noticed. I have used flowers as accents on pages where my son is featured, but I use them more as a textural device and/or a color accent. And that's mostly because its what's available in the kit. Hmm.

I have a 2 year old son and a 12 year old brother. I almost exclusively only get to scrap boy layouts. When I DO have the opportunity to scrap a girly page, I absolutely do.

I'm also not opposed to occasionally scrapping my son with flowers and such... I don't see that a well-placed flower in the midst of a cluster is really all that girly.

I also will say that I used to do a lot more clustering when I was scrapping more friends' girls, or me-centered layouts, or things like that, but now that I do more boy layouts, I do less clustering, more paper-filled, graphic, clean line layouts. I'm not sure if it's because my scrapping style changed (and I do love me some papers!) or if it's because I feel less inspired, overall, by boy-ish elements. Maybe it's both.

I don't have a real preference. It seems like most girl kits have more items to cluster and layer than the boy kits do and I love a good cluster so I appreciate those girl kits. I still tend to shy away from flowers a little bit (though I am learning to embrace them!) so boy kits are easier to use because I don't have to feel bad for not using the flowers.

I love girly stuff but I need more male stuff. I was blessed with 2 girls and 2 boys and they have in turn blessed me with 6 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. My son would probably prefer me to use skulls instead of flowers.

With 3 boys I definitely do WAY more "boy" layouts, but love to use girly kits to scrap AAM pages.
