Breaking it down

Am I the only one that looks at a page and breaks it down to the smallest detail? Not just the page but the product used. I have a need to know how everything was created. How was that flower or bow created? It kinda drives me batty. :blink:

I don't break it down by products or anything, but I try to break down everything that someone did to their page.

I used to break it down bit by bit when I first stared scrapping. I looked at the smallest detail. I don't do it so much anymore but I think that's how I learned to scrap!!!

I don't know the first thing about "creating elements"....those designers are amazing!!!!

Yeah, I think it is something I grew out of as I scrapped more. Once you know how something is done, you don't have to wonder every time you see it anymore, but as a new scrapper, I was constantly trying to work everything out! There is always more to learn, of course, but the more you scrap, the less stuff is right there smacking you in the face going "learn MEEEE!" ;)

Amen, Trish! I know I learn new stuff all the time from everyone else's tutorials and layouts.

I'm not curious about designing but I do 1-2 scraplifts a week to learn new techniques, shadowing, and clustering.

I have been trying to learn some more about Photoshop and Illustrator. I don't have any plans to become a designer, but I do like having the ability to create some of my own (very simple) items and to expand my scrap stash. (If anything, I'd like to be able to do more hybrid stuff.) Mostly, what I've been learning is making me a smarter consumer of digital scrapping kits. I do think that the folks who design here at SSD are just gosh darn crazy talented because I think it's more than just being able to use the software, it's having a creative spark and vision. I have no idea how they constantly keep on coming up with amazing themes week after week after week!
