It shows up for $117 for me, but doesn't indicate it's a deal, is that the same price as you get? I did a quick search and see that Walmart has it for $99 (at least I think it's the same thing, lol).

The lightening deal part doesn't start til 4:00 central, Sheri - so I don't know what their final price will be. But I wouldn't be surprised if it came in around $100.

ha, ha, I totally misread your post and thought it said it was a lightening deal until 4:00pm EST! I will have to check it out this afternoon. The Walmart kit doesn't have quite as many pieces.

As an aside, some of those lightning deals literally sell out within a minute or so. So, if you're truly interested in it, I'd be ready to add it to your cart at exactly 4pm CST. If you wait til even 4:01 to try to decide, it could be too late (I learned this the hard way last week on one I was watching!)

Can someone catch me up on the Cricut vs. a Silhouette? When I got burnt out from paper scrapping years ago, I didn't keep track of anything.

Cricut comes with pre-designed cartridges that are (IMO) pretty expensive. Silhouette allows you to design your own cuts and you can design a cut from any .png PLUS the silhouette store has cuts for 99 cent each.

My friend has an original Cricut and I've used that before, but wasn't crazy about the limited fonts.

what Traci said... the Cricut is not hybrid friendly FYI... you wouldn't be able to use any designs other than what you can only buy from Cricut... meaning you can't use Darcy's fonts, or the awesome cut files here in the shoppe... so even though the machine is less expensive than the Silhouette... it also can't do many of the things a Silhouette can, nor can it cut many of the freebies you can find in webland ;)

It looks like it's on sale for $89.99 ... but it sounds like the Silhouette is a better product, so I'll probably just get one of those instead.
