Hey, you said you just bought an HP. I have two laptops configured, one Dell (I know, shocking LOL) and one HP. What HP did you get? I am very tempted because I can get the 512 MB graphics card for the HP but not the Dell. Anything else that swayed your decision?
BTW if I get the Dell, I'm buying the biggest warranty they have ROFL

Oh I meant to go back to that DST thread! Sorry!
I got the dv9700t. The "middle" entertainment powerhouse one.
The graphics card was really our main deciding point. The Vaio we configured was more money, smaller HD, smaller graphics card. But we also didn't configure a Dell. But the graphics card was 50% off, and Jordan was really set on that. And I can't really argue wtih it, considering the bigger the graphics card the better, lol.
Like I said over there, I got 3GB of RAM, and then the 250GB hard drive was the standard for it, so I didn't upgrade that any further.
ETA: I just checked it out and it looks like they changed the deal. The graphics card is full price, but now the upgrade to 3GB RAM is 50% off. Either way I think it's an awesome deal. And I LOVE mine, even though I've only had it for like 5 days, lol.

Thanks Col, the one I'm looking at is that same one. I upgraded the RAM to 4 GB and the hard drive tp 500 GB hehehehe. I also had to upgrade to the Microsoft Office, which I need for work, so that was extra expense also. I won't be getting a new computer anytime in the forseeable future, my desktop was almost $2500 last year (it was custom built by my computer guy) and once I get this laptop, I'll be done forever ROFL. Tony will never let me buy anything else LOL!
That is my deciding factor now, whether I can run on 256 or not, this desktop has 512, but there are a couple of other things I could get with the Dell but not the HP. I'm still looking, this is a hard decision!

Just so you know, pretty much everyone told me that 4GB is too much for RAM. That it's like the computer doesn't know what to do wtih the space, and it's not nearly as efficient.

Seriously? even running Vista? (which scares me LOL)
I would think 4Gb would be a GOOD thing LOL

Jordan was looking at my task manager over the weekend. Vista took up about 1GB, and CS2 took up about 600mb.
If I needed more, Jordan would've bought it. I think 4GB might be overkill though.
Oh and I got teh 2.4GHz processor too, in case you were wondering, which I'm sure you weren't. ;)
And Vista really isn't THAT much different. A few things take a lil bit to get used to, but for the most part, it's not that bad compared to the old OS's

Col, you are a wealth of knowledge, and I appreciate your thoughts! That's the processor I have picked also. I think I'm going with the Dell, the price is comparable even though I'm scared with my last Dell experience, plus I can get PINK! LOL!
I do run PS and Dreamweaver together quite frequently, plus a bunch of other stuff at once.

No problem at all hon!
Whatever you pick, I wish you a problem free relationship with it, lol!

Eeek me too! I'm scared to push the button, but I have a 3 year warranty on it. The last time I only had 1 year, and boy did I pay for that! LOL!
