What do you think will take over in 2014? We saw a lot of pocket scrapbooking, hexagons and chevrons this year I think. What are you hoping to see more of next year?

my hope is more mixed media, not so graphic pocket scrapping... starting to see a little bit popping up and hoping for more
my other hope is for more traditional paper scrappers to give hybrid a try and hybrid becoming more trendy

I love the chevron pattern and hexagons. I am hoping to see another shape or pattern take the design world by storm. I love playing with shapes so that would be my #1.

I don't know... this is a tough one! I would love to see more artsy handmade-type styles emerge in 2014. Perhaps more illustrative elements, a handcrafted look, unique shapes, and layouts with tons of photos (non-PL).

I'm hoping it involves people wanting to continue with digital supplies with whatever the trends are hahaha :D

I'm guessing silver/metallics, diamond shapes, and Pantone's color of the year. That's what I see happening in paper, and digi usually follows.
I'd love to see more bold patterns and use of color which would be in-line with what's happening in Spring fashions. Lace and metallics are also trending heavy in Spring fashion, so I hope we see that in digi, too.
I don't think vintage has run its course in digi yet, but I'd like to see a more modern take on it rather than literal. If I see another mustache, though, I might lose my mind.

I am going to give hybrid a chance for 2014 so hoping kits will have things that will help me in this direction....

I am going to do my PL hybrid this year so anything in that direction would be great....and I still love the chevrons :)

Yes! I would love to see less art journaling (to my brain it just looks like a mess, sorry folks! :D) I would also love to see less Project Life kits but I know that's not going to happen. On the flip side of that though, the more PL kits that are made the less I spend!
Also: No more potty people, mustaches, vintage "postcard" type elements that don't match the theme of the kit whatsoever... Hmm, sorry, this turned into more of a "what I DON'T want to see in 2014"!

I'm seeing a lot more triangles in art and on etsy, so I wonder if that might be "the shape of 2014"? Who knows.
I think gold is going to be big this year. I've seen it sneaking in more and more. I love the shimmer so it works for me!
I don't see design motifs like deer heads, birds/owls, nests, oversized glasses, and bicycles going anywhere. Vintage typography will still be big.
Personally, I'd like to see oversized, kitschy floral papers because I think they're fun layering pieces.

I have no idea about trends, but I've grown fond of gold recently, so if there's more or it, I won't say no. :-)

Haha, that's too funny. I love the random vintage cards and bits thrown in that aren't so matchy-matchy with the theme of the kit. I hope they don't stop this trend. I love vintage motifs and ephemera.

I would like to see the return of white space since I'm such a white space scrapper. I feel lost in a sea of project life, pocket scrapbooking and art journalling lol

Oh and while there's a lot of things I'm not a fan of... I think that's actually great, because I'm buying too many kits anyway. If I loved it all, it would be unbearable. :-)

I'm seeing lots of foxes (maybe instead of owls).
I love art journaling and hope to see it feel more authentic and give it some direction with lists/themes/etc. There is a tendency for it to feel forced and random, making it less likely to connect with anyone other than the scrapper.
(And I love all the ephemeral additions to kits.)

Large Multi-photo layouts. With the gazillions of photos most scrapbookers take, I'm surprised there aren't more multi-photo layouts online.

i must admit that i love what i love and that is artjournalingpocketscrapbooking-whiteandblackspacevintageephemerashabbydoodle-inmostofeverycolorifitspink.
having said that... trends might be gold (great!) and triangles (ehrm... yeah okay). for myself doodles have never been something that i was drawn to but came in a huge wave over me the last year (hey, la! :-))
i think maybe after all this color overload the more subtle/white/nude-toned stuff might also be coming.
i made a photobook the last weeks as a gift for christmas and used only vintage stuff and the girls were like crying because they liked it so much. so vintage i think (and hope) will stay.

Trends I am seeing is a lot more geometrics and fun 'line style' patterns, moving away from cutesy stuff and more adult/glitzy style. I also still see a lot of 'watercolory' and 'misting' almost mixed media styles but more light than dark? And metals oh wow metals Gold & Silver LOOOVE

I see pocket scrapbooking remaining popular this year, and I also think that there will be more geometric patterns, like the triangles Lynnette did this year a few times. I'm not sure hexagons will be all the rage, but I do think other geometry will reign.
I'm crossing my fingers that the Pantone pick this year will inspire more pinks and purples, but... I know how that's cursed around here ;)
