How to add layouts to posts

How do I add a layout to a post so it displays in the body of the post? Just like the layouts in the Sneak Previews threads? I tried to to click on insert image and then copy and paste the url of the image from the gallery, but when I preview my post, there is no layout in the body, just a small icon. TIA.

Thank you! This helped a lot. I was copying url from the web page vs. right-clicking on the image and selecting "copy image as url".
