Do you have any types of pictures that pretty much automatically make you unmotivated to scrap them?

I have to force myself to scrap pictures of my kids with my MIL. We do not get along and I don't particularly like how she has treated my boys in the past, but they still love her and she's my hubby's only living parent so I force myself to do it. bah!

Birthdays, Christmas, Halloween. The big events get overwhelming, I tend to avoid them until I have to scrap them.

This is me too. They're all in my pocket album for the year, but I don't enjoy scrapping them on stand-alone pages.

Hmmm. Generally most events. Mostly because it's always chaos, so my photos are never as "nice" as I want them to be and it bugs me. of course, in my pocket scrapping album, they are perfect but I'm kind of weird about the pictures that motivate me to create stand alone pages and my event photos are always cluttered with extra people and "stuff".

Any event with tons of pictures. Mostly Christmas and holidays.

Week 52 of my PL still isn't done. There is just too many pictures and little stories and I'm so tired of scrapping with Christmas kits! lol.

For me it's pictures that show how messy my house is at times.

For me it's the ones where the photos aren't as great. The amateur photog in me wants to use only the prettiest, best shots. But I need to scrap the everyday moments too.

This. It's gotten better since I started doing PL; it forces me to deal with the photo overload within a few weeks instead of ignoring it for months (or...ahem...years). Plus, being able to split the pictures between the PL page and the event page makes the event page much more manageable. But I still have so many birthdays and holidays to scrap, especially from 2012 and earlier when I wasn't doing PL.

For me, it has to be photos that have my ex-husband in them. I know they are a part of my 2 older children's memories, but it is really tough for me to do.

Events with gifts. I don't care abt gifts and often don't remember (or care) who gave what when, so in the moment, I try to take photos of each gift as it's being opened so I can at least go back later and know what was given even if I don't know from whom.

I'm a '60% of the fun is the anticipation' kind of person, so I love planning things (and scrapping the planning), but the actual execution is not as fun for me so the actual event is usually last on my list.

I pretty much like scrapping anything (there are always so many great kits to use too kwim?) but I get frustrated with events that have lots of photos. Because I want to include all the photos in my book (they're all important), but I have way more fun scrapping with just a few photos on a page. So in 2013's book, I started picking a few of my favorites from a big event, scrapping a page I love with just those, then the page next to that one in the book, I just do a simple collage of the other pictures with a matching backdrop and maybe a few elements. It made scrapping big events more fun for me. I just printed my 2013 book and I think I like it :)

I've done that a few times, too. I've also bought some relatively simple month in review/photobook templates where the first page has 1 or 2 photo spots and the second page has a whole bunch, and those are good for big events. I still avoid scrapping the big events more often than not, though!

As I work my way back to older photos, I face the same with my ex-stepfather (now deceased). It's a tricky thing. My kids only barely remember him, but he was important to them at the time.

I'm a "one photo on a layout" kind of scrapper. Big events are hard for me too!!

I hear ya! I hate when I get a great photo of my kids and realize my house is a disaster in the background! You think it'd be better motivation for me to keep it clean, so I can have clutter free pictures, but I'd rather be scrapping than cleaning! :p My husband told me this afternoon that he's going to give me a list of chores that I have to do before I can scrap each day. He was teasing of course, but seriously, I probably need that! haha!

Yeah... I'm the same here where have a ton of photos for an event... it's not enough of an event to have a stand alone book... and just overwhelming to have them all scrapped in the general album. I have a hard problem narrowing them down.
