Anybody a crocheter? I used to years ago and I'm toying with starting up doing granny squares. I'd love to find our your favourite tutorial / inspiration sites and see any projects you can share! :)

I crochet, but I can't follow a pattern to save my life! I go the hard route and make up my own stuff. I've been crocheting for a long time. I've actually got a little boutique with my mom that sells some of my crochet stuff and her sewing stuff since she's been sewing since she was six and is AMAZING.

That's awesome! My mom sews too -- she used to make beautiful dolls to sell. And whenever she wanted something changed in the house (new tablecloth anyone?), she'd just whip one up.

Me on the other hand, can't sew on a button! :/

But, I can crochet - just haven't done it in ages. I'm looking for something crafty to do, but that doesn't take up tons of space so I think I'll give crochet a go.

I do. I have a lot of crochet pins on my craft board on Pinterest.

I'm in a group that knits/crochets for the homeless, in the winter we do hats and scarves and the rest of the year we do washcloths and the like. It's a side group, we do monthly giveaways of toiltetries etc. and these go along with that. That takes up the bulk of my crochet time.

I'm trying ( sort of, to learn to knit ) but I just don't have the time to really devote to it.

Love to crochet. I don't do a lot of squares, not because I don't like them, but I hate piecing them together! I"m kind of lazy like that. I do love to look through the patterns at ravelry.com (http://www.ravelry.com/). You can probably find some fun pieces and tutorials there.

I believe that there is a group or two on Ravelry that does crochet alongs (CALs) with certain granny square patterns each week.

I used to crochet a ton . . . before I became obsessed with digiscrapping. :D But, I always struggled with granny squares because I hate sewing in the loose ends. Does anyone have a great trick for not needing to do that? It's soooo tedious and the only part I really dislike about crochet.

The rare times I crochet I crochet over my loose ends. Unless it is the very last one for the outside, then I just weave it in. I've found in knitting and crocheting it's easier to just take care of loose ends as you go instead of waiting until you are done.

I am HUGE into crochet! Did it all the time as a kid but just simple things. Learned how to read patterns last winter and I've been obsessed ever since. I was going to suggest Ravelry also. I learned SO much from there and have followed tons of the patterns posted.

I also have this book and have made a lot of the projects in it. I've been working on a huge motif afghan since last year. I'm probably about 3/4 of the way through it.

Thanks so much!

I found this pattern on one of your boards and bought it so I'm going to give it a go!

Between the pattern and the ever so helpful world of YouTube tutorials, I think I can do this!
