Can anyone give me some advice on resizing pages to keep them crisp but still under 130K. I thought I was doing it right (using export as .jpg in PSP9) but the filesize is still too small to avoid visible compression effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated - I hate the way I do all that work to make something that looks nice and then it doesn't because of the compression.

Thanks.

Hmmm...I have PSCS2 so maybe someone w/PSP will stop by to help.

I leave mine at 300 and resize the overall pixel dimension to 500x500. And I usually save at a level 7 (which usually makes it under 100k, even though most gallery limits are higher than this lol). If that doesn't make it small enough, I use the Save For Web feature in PSCS2.

I've been resizing to 600x600. I'll try 500x500 and see if the drop is enough to do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion Karen.

Yep, that's helped. I'll stick with 500x500 in future and that should solve the problem. I don't even remember where I got the figures of 600x600 now anyway.

Thanks Karen.

You probably got 600x600 b/c lot that's the maximum in lots of galleries out there. there are also some w/limits of 500x500 so I've just done it that way. Glad it helped :)

Yeh, I use PSP XI and I always keep it either 500 x 500 or under and it works perfectly. :)

Jenna, good to know there's another PSP user here who might be able to help me out as needed. We're probably going to upgrade to XI, but it's all a matter of balancing the finances - as seems to be the case with most of life really.
