Do you do your family's grocery shopping? With or without spouse/kids? Do you love it, tolerate it, or hate it? Are you a couponer or other kind of dealmaker? What's your favorite way to save money at the grocery store?

I'm one of those weird people who loves going to the grocery store. I do it every monday after I dropped the boys off at school. I'm not a coupon person but if there is a store coupon on something i would normally buy sitting there when I am shopping I will grab it. My biggest way to save money is to meal plan.

i hate it. i hate going to the grocery store. i'm 10000% spoiled and darcy will often go and pick up things we need AND take the kids with him. I consider taking Lucas to the grocery store torture.

I order it online then pick it up from the shop the next day. Much easier since my nearly 3 year old gets bored of walking around.

We do the shopping together with the kids. By the end of it my six year old has drove me insane. The two year old loves going and believe it or not is normally great. I don't coupon. I say I am then guess what, it doesn't happen. I just don't have the time. I help my husband bring it in and put it up.

I hate it! Going takes too much time. Now we order online and pick it up, and that's also my favorite way to save money on groceries. When I used to go with the kids I couldn't really keep track of what I was spending well, and there were so many requests for things they saw. Being able to fill my cart virtually (alone!) and then make adjustments for cost if needed has helped me stick to our grocery budget.

I hate grocery shopping so my hubby does it. We have a deal that while he's shopping, I clean the house.

Not a big fan, I do it by myself. I've started going every 2 weeks, instead of every week, I've been saving over $300 a month.

I hate it. I despise it. I only go because we'd go hungry if I didn't.

We actually all go as a family every other Friday. We have always went together even when the kids were little, it actually has never been as bad as we were as a child with my mom. Lol

I do the shopping unless I forget something and I'm in the middle of cooking, lol. I hate it, but I have to go every Monday for work, so I pick ours up with the daycare stuff. :)

What Britanee said... I'd literally rather stay home and clean toilets. I do 90% of the shopping and go alone if at all possible. My DH and I don't like to go as a family, we'd rather one of us stay home with the kids.

I like grocery shopping, when I'm alone. Usually I go when my daughter is at an activity and my husband runs other errands with my son. I find if I'm alone, my bill is much smaller and so blood pressure is lower, haha!

I shop at a smaller grocery store that only has food so I like that. I used to shop at a giant chain, but I was tired of walking a football field length to go from produce to dairy - and having to pass an entire retail clothing store, housewares, etc. I just want food when I'm grocery shopping.

When I'm by myself, I go through my list and then explore the produce (always like to pick up in-season goodness) and any new food products - love to find new sauces or baked goods.

I see that so many of you don't like it - but I really do think of it as "me time". Now, what I do dislike is putting away the groceries when I get home!

We split grocery shopping in our household, as we do with cooking and every other household chore. When I do go, I typically shop by myself. I have zero aspiration to do anything related to coupons, unless it's a coupon that saves me a set dollar figure or percentage off my total purchase. I don't do product-specific coupons. The amount of time it takes to sort through coupons by far exceeds the amount I'd save, so it's a no bueno for me.

I'm a fan of Costco and I love going with my girls. I went Saturday without them and I was completely lost!

It is usually me going by myself or with my daughter. Every other week, I will drag everyone out with me. I actually like when we all go. My parents used to always take us kids grocery shopping.

I am very picky and since I am buying fruit for the baby and my daughter's lunch, I like to take care picking it out which means I will be in that section of the store almost 30 minutes. If I just don't feel like going, hubby will go for me with a very specific list (name brands, sizes and everything will be written down).

Coupons - I will add the digital coupons from our store to our loyalty card and the coupons from Savings Star. That is far as I go with coupons. I hate the hassle of trying to keep up with them. I barely can keep up with my list.

I do grocery shopping with my hubby and my son together, usually about once a week...

I do the shopping, once a week. I'm pretty efficient in a grocery store, so it doesn't bug me much. Right now I usually go on Tuesday, but each place we've lived, it's been a different day. Also, in this season, I usually have all three kiddos with me. It's not too bad...the younger two (5 and 2) go in the race car cart and the older one (8) pushes a second cart which is nice because the race car ones don't hold much. I never use coupons except for the occasional in-store on for a product I'm buying anyway (I'd rather use time scrapbooking than couponing...).

I don't love putting away the groceries, but I don't hate it either... It's just part of the job. But I will say, our current house has a huge pantry (bigger than my last 5 pantries combined), and that makes putting things away so much easier.

I don't mind grocery shopping at all and I go a couple times a week since we eat so much fresh produce. Cheyanne goes with me 50% of the time - sometimes she just waits in the car - it doesn't affect my shopping if she does or not; she's not a fan of grocery shopping.

I only use coupons for household products - cleaning, shampoo, etc. I make a meal plan for the week and from that a list and stick to it (for all 3 meals and snacks). This saves money for sure, but the biggest thing that saves me money is not eating meat or dairy or processed packaged foods - my grocery bill this week for the 2 of us - 3 meals and snacks for a week - was $47

I've always done the grocery shopping and I love it! I like cooking and eating so I see it as an extension of that rather than a weekly chore. It is much more enjoyable when the kids aren't with me though - one is OK, two is a no-no, hence I usually go when they're at school. If I'm not in a rush I quite like browsing the fruit & veg and health food sections...

We don't have coupons in Australia either, but the stores usually have specials of some kind and reward/loyalty schemes... I don't take much notice of any of that though because those deals don't usually apply to things I buy. I try to meal plan each week, buy what I need based on that + basics (milk, bread, yoghurt, eggs, fruit & veg). We eat alot of salads and veggies and I tend to buy mostly whole foods, things that are in season and no convenience products... this all keeps my grocery bill down.

I also grow some veggies at home, and I have a herb patch too... I'm far from self sufficient but it saves a bit, in summer at least.

I go every Monday morning, kid-free, so it's actually something I look forward to. It makes me feel happy to have it taken care of, to make sure that we have everything we need for the rest of the week so we don't have to keep running back & spending more money. I think that my weekly grocery trips are probably one of my greatest accomplishments this year, which is lame, I know, but it forces me to plan what we're going to eat, which ends those "What are we going to eat?" at 5 o'clock {ahem} discussions.

My mum does all the main shopping but I do pick up the basics when we run out because I'm usually out more often. Now that I'm not studying we might have to change things a bit as I won't go out as much.

I do grocery shopping every Monday (what's with everyone doing it on a Monday? lol) twice a month after dropping off my daughter to school. That was after my husband went away. Before, we always do it as a family, he pushes the cart and go after our daughter. But I'm always the one to put them in the fridge since I clean the meats first before I pack them in plastic storage boxes. The same goes with the veggies, clean them first before putting them in the vegetable storage. I want my fridge to be tidy so it will be easier for everyone to find what they need.

I am the grocery shopper. Sometimes I take along my son, some times my boyfriend, but most of the time alone. I enjoy it. I do rarely use coupons, but I always use a list.

I Costco shop. They have a great selection of organic products. I am also a fan of local farmer's markets. I have an organic market just down the road from my house so it makes buying in season fruit and veggies so convenient, plus I feel good about supporting the local farmers. I have never been a couponer. I watched extreme couponing once and thought I would try it just to see. Epic fail.

I despise everything about groceries from planning meals to shopping to cooking to cleaning up. I am seriously trying to figure out a way that my family can survive without food in the equation! HATE everything to do with food except the eating part and, honestly, I'm not a big fan of eating either... just have to do it to survive.

I am a coupon shopper but don't do it as much anymore. I just don't have the kind of time I used to now that I work full time, outside the home. I absolutely HATE taking my kids shopping with me too. :( My 10 year old really, really hates shopping too so taking him is torture.

I meal plan using buildamenu.com (LOVE that site!) and try to shop for 2 weeks at a time as much as I can. The longer I stay out of the store, the better for my bank account.

My husband always goes with me and when it's a day off from work for him and we have a lot of time I enjoy doing it, specially when it's those kind of big supermarkets... lol
I like because he already knows what do to/choose, then it's a lot easier because i can go to a different direction and do my part!
I wish i'd be a meal planner like some of you, because i always get lost about how many stuff i need to shop (food/veggies/meat etc) and then i end up shopping almost the same as always... =/ sometimes i see a recipe and i don't have all the itens!
I need to get better on this!
