I always make Buffalo Chicken Dip...it's always a hit. http://foreverfeeding.com/2011/12/31/buffalo-chicken-dip/
**I never use canned chicken. That grosses me out. I always use shredded chicken from a rotisserie chicken**
Meatballs are always a nice and easy thing. I make mine using three ingredients: bag of meatballs, jar of Heinz Chile (found in ketchup isle) and a jar of Smuckers Blackberry Jam (or grape if you prefer). Throw all in a crockpot for a few hours and viola!

I love that buffalo chicken dip too and one time someone made it with canned chicken and it was GROSS!!!!
Anyhoo... I'm making this spinach artichoke di (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/24915/hot-spinach-and-artichoke-dip/)p. It's been my fave for years.
They're not technically an appetizer, but these rice krispie treats (http://www.onsuttonplace.com/2014/01/the-bestice-krispies-treats/) are so yummy because they don't get hard and crunch.

I was just coming here to post this lol....love Buffalo Chicken Dip and it is always a hit. I also don't do the canned chicken.
I may try this corn dip that my friend made before and was really good. Not sure if this is the exact recipe but looks like it. I'll have to get the exact recipe from her. http://recipeswelove.net/2011/04/corn-dip-aka-crack-dip-this-stuff-is-to-die-for/

This year I'm having a friend over who doesn't eat dairy or sugar (well really limits it). And we don't eat nuts at home. Sooo... I'm making a healthier spread this year (which I'm due for after all of the indulgences of December!!):
Pioneer Woman's Restaurant Style Salsa (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/restaurant-style-salsa/) + tortilla chip scoops
Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip (http://ohsheglows.com/2011/02/05/spinach-artichoke-dip-party-menu-planning/) + crackers
Assorted munchies tray: pickles, olives, salami, crackers, marinated veggies, etc.

I just made those meatballs at Christmas... I did add 1T of yellow mustard and 1/4c Worcestershire sauce which added another layer of taste - yum!
bacon wrapped anything - little sausages, chestnuts, chicken are big hits with my extended family... can't go wrong with bacon... :D
taco dip and deviled eggs - I'm not allowed to host a family gathering, without it.

I don't eat meat but Cheyanne does and her friend who always is here for NYE, so they have requested the grape jelly/chili sauce meatballs and bacon wrapped water chestnuts (http://savorysweetlife.com/2009/12/appetizer-bacon-wrapped-water-chestnuts/) (my daughter's absolute favorite). We'll also have hummus and lots of veggies for dipping, crackers with cream cheese and hot pepper jelly, and probably some other stuff but I have no idea yet what they will be.

I love these - so easy to make and SO addicting. Eat them on their own or dip 'em in something.

Tortilla Crisps
Recipe by Best of Bridge Most Loved Recipes Collection
Recipe:
3/4 cup Hard margarine or butter, softened (I find margarine works way better, and I don't use the hard stuff, I just scoop it out of the Becel container because I'm too lazy to wait to let it soften)
1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (I use the powdery stuff in the green container, not fresh)
1/4 cup Sesame Seeds
2 tsp Parsley Flakes
1/2 tsp Dried whole oregano
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
12 Flour tortillas - 6 inch (15 cm) in diameter (or 10, 8" ones"
Combine First 7 ingredients in small bowl.
Divide and spread thick layer or mixture on each tortilla. It will seem like too much but once cooked it'll be just right.
Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges - this is a great excuse to use your pizza cutter if you have one! Arrange in a single layer on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake in preheated 350' oven (175'C) for 9-12 minutes until crisp and golden. Watch for the edges to curl, once they do that, keep an eye on them because they will burn quickly. My oven runs a little hot, they take me about 9 minutes to cook.
All those appetizer recipes make me hungry! Lol!
