half of your settings have reverted to default? Thankfully I didn't actually LOSE my styles and brushes (which has happened before), but all the panel settings and guides and stuff have gone back to default. This happens maybe every 6 months or so and it is A.N.N.O.Y.I.N.G.

Anytime PS or my computer crashes that happens to me. It isn't often, luckily, but it's a pain.

Hmm... my dd was using my laptop for math yesterday and shut it down when she was finished. I wonder if she didn't close things out before she did so? I'll have to ask her.

I hate it when that happens. I notice my PSE does that alot when it updates.

My PSE has done this several times in recent weeks....and yes, it's very annoying!

Remember that in PS you can save a "workspace", that way if the program changes settings back to the default you can click a drop down box and it's instantly back. :)

I have a workspace saved and it helps, but there are some things it doesn't include. I always need to manually reset things like which graphics card PS uses, the preview size of fonts in the text drop down menu, and that I want to see the pixel dimensions rather than the MB of each file.

I also have my workspace saved so I can load it exactly as I want. Another thing I like to do is save an update version of my entire PS preferences /settings folder. When I get on my husband's computer to scrap, I just make sure to take that file (the first time only) and move it to his computer and everything is set up the exact same way for all of my preferences.

I've forgotten that I used to do that!
