So we are having DirecTV installed today as part of our internet bundle with AT&T, and I have never had satellite before or know anyone who does.
Does anyone else use DirecTV? Or another satellite service? Is there some huge difference between it and cable? Anyone not like satellite or DirecTV?
I feel like this is something obvious that I should know... but I don't so educate me Sweeties!
(Doesn't Sweeties sound so much more fun than Sweet Shoppers?! I think so.) [emoji13]

We used to have satellite years ago, but when there was bad weather (lots of wind) our connection would flicker in and out. Sometimes, if we purchased a movie we could hardly watch it because it would freeze and then skip every few minutes. We'd get our money back if we called customer service, but it was a hassle. Drove me bananas. IDK how technology has changed since then, but that was the only difference I've noticed between satellite and cable.

We don't have cable or satellite...so I'm no help. We used to have satellite - and would have the same issues with high wind days with flickering, and did have cables (but had shortages sometimes then too). Now we are among the folks who just use an antenna and streaming

We used to have DirecTV but more than a year ago decided to cut the cord and we now only use Hulu, Amazon and Netflix.
Satellite was all we could get being rural. Not cable option for us. Overall DirecTV was okay. Only in pretty severe weather (heavy rains) did we have the satellite go out. The amount of money we were paying though made us sit down and add up the costs and decide to get rid of it after being DTV customers for 10 years. They give you great deals when you come in but after that it can be pretty expensive depending on what programming you want.

We used to have DirecTv but we cancelled it about a year ago. We just upped our internet service and got Hulu, Amazon and Netflix.
Our experience with DirecTv was good. We just didn't like how expensive it was getting. I can only recall twice where it went down. It was due to weather. Typically, it had to be a really rainy day or snow covering the dish to interrupt service. Other than that, we had no complaints with service.

We have DirecTV bundled with our AT&T package, too. We don't have any issues really. We live in Cali so occasionally we'll have weather that might disrupt a bit but nothing significant. We don't rent movies at home but our friend's parents rent movies all the time at their cabin in the mountains and they don't seem to have any issues with it.

I live in Kentucky and we have Direct TV. We do have problems with getting a signal when it is a bad rain storm.
My only complaint is the same as everyone else is the price is getting a bit expensive. We can't hardly get any TV without the Satellite (no cable lines where I live) so unfortunately I am stuck. I did check into Dish and they do have a special for 3 years but then the price is the exact same as Direct TV and it is just to much a hassle for me to switch when we do like Direct TV (don't want to learn new channels with Dish).
