do you love it, do you hate it?
I tend to use journaling as therapy :p
I normally type out what I want and never go back and read it. That's what makes it "real" to me. Sometimes I go back and read my journaling and get embarrassed. lol I've made my girls cry

I don't look back at my journaling either! I thought I was the only one that doesn't proofread my page lol :P
I love journaling actually, but I don't always do it on every page. Only if I feel the need to do so.

I have to at least proofread it after journaling just because I often leave out a letter here or there & it looks funny. But I have to journal something, even if it's just a quote & the date, on every page.

I don't know if I love journaling but i do it simply because I have to put a journal for my photobook layouts. But when it comes to CT layouts I sometimes find myself staring at the computer and thinking of a very very short journal to type. But most of the time I don't have anything to say. When I make a page for my photobook which sometimes I use for a challenge or CT LO, I remove or change the journaling, and that's when the staring on the computer begins.

I like journaling too - sometimes it's a lot, sometimes not much at all but always the date/place/event. I also don't proofread - I figure if there's a mistake then it shows I'm human and when I paper scrapped if I made a mistake I didn't bother to make a new journaling box and re-write it, so I don't with digital either. I try to be careful and pay attention to typos while I'm doing it but there's almost always a mistake of some kind :D

HEre's why I love journaling... because when I go back and look at my books from when the kids were little, I think the pages with just photos and ellies are them are pretty, but I don't care about them nearly as much as the ones with stories written down.

I'm terrible at journaling...if I try to journal it's what takes me the longest to complete my page then I just end up deleting the words all together. I don't know why I put so much pressure on myself over it.

You know how I feel abt journaling, LW.
I'm an average scrapper but a great storyteller. That's where I really shine, and that's why I scrap. It just makes it more likely that someone will read my words if I have them surrounded by pretties & pictures. :p

I put enough down to tell the story, but I can't write a novel. :D I used to be able to write more, now I'm lost for words.

I love having journaling in my books but I hate doing the actual journaling itself. It's more of a chore to me. But, I agree that the books are much more meaningful with it and I have a terrible memory so it does help me to recall the what/when/were of things.
I do a lot of genealogy and I find the having pictures of my ancestors is nice but I really want to know about what they did and thought and dreamed. I hope my journaling someday will make us real, 3D people to future generations.

Exactly! And no matter how well you think you'll remember the stories, you won't, trust me! I have boxes of photos of my son (who is now 28) and his childhood was way before digital camera times; so I have all these photos and they're fun to look at of course but the details of who, what, where, when are fading and I'm really not into old age yet! :D

I used to hate it, but now I love making a pure journaling page. Especially if it's a "therapy" page where I just write whatever I need to get out and then forget about it.

I lost my father when I was 2
And for me the only way to "know" about him was through my photo albums and what my mother told me, and I spent hundred of hours looking those albums trying to find more and more.
Ten years ago, when my kid was born, I had this need of recording his life and our family relationship, and that is why I started scrapping.
So, for me journaling is VERY important. it doesn´t matter if is two lines saying who are in the pics or the whole story behind it, but it have to be there.

I am bad about journaling. I love reading the stories later but hate writing them down!

I almost always journal on my pages. In fact I usually do the journaling right after the event happens, saving it in a text file. That way, then I get around to scrapping the page how-ever-many-years later, the journaling is ready to go. If I go more than a month without recording our stories, I start to get really stressed and preoccupied about it...

I always have to journal and sometimes I probably journal what is considered 'too much'. But at the end of the day it's about recording our memories and I want to make sure everything is remembered, since my memory is already bad enough as it is. ;)

This is SO me. My goal is to make whoever is reading my journaling cry :w00t:
