I don't like sushi. When we're out I feel compelled to order something to fit in, telling myself that maybe THIS is the time I will magically like it. I have two pieces and I'm done. Then I stupidly have one more piece and have to choke it down and concentrate on not gagging and then say, "You know, Eden would LOVE it if I took the rest of this home for her." Why do I do this?

TV - I've never been a fan and become even less of one as I get older.

eeaders - I made the switch to a smart phone a couple years ago and I think I was the last person under the age of 90 to do so. I don't see me switching to an eeader anytime soon...

chocolate - I'll occasionally have a piece or two and I definitely like Stacia's brownies, but I could never eat chocolate again and be perfectly OK with that.

video games - I'm not a gamer, but Matt loves them.

Yes to sushi... gross. I've tried... I just don't like seaweed and the raw fish texture.

Buffalo wings... pretty much any meat that I have to pick the meat off the bones like a caveman. Wild Buffalo Wings is my hubby's favorite restaurant... I haven't found anything on that menu that I like.

Snacks. I like buying them and seem to be a good one to choose what's yummy what's not. But I usually be the last person in the house that eats them.

hmmmm.. tough one! It's hard to think of things that most people like that I don't. I can be pretty picky but a lot of the foods I don't like are ones that a good % of others don't like too (mushrooms for one haha). I haven't had meat in a few months now and the thought of meat kinda grosses me out now too.

In terms of THINGS.. I HATE going to the movies. HATE. I haven't been to a theatre in almost 10 years.. I hate the crowds and the noise and just to me they are kind of gross because I don't know if they really get cleaned all that well lol.

I hated sushi for a long time but recently discovered that you can ask them to replace the seaweed paper with soy paper so that it doesn't have that extreme fishy taste. With that change, I now LOVE it -- especially shrimp tempura rolls (i.e., no raw fish). Yum. So, if it's the fishy taste you hate, give it a try with soy paper.

I have never really found an Itialian dessert that I thought was good. Tiramisu is the most overated dessert in the world, IMO. And gelato is 99% of the time just substandard ice cream.

SHOPPING! Most of my girl friends love shopping therapy. I hate it! I would rather be outside riding my dirt bike on a single track or hiking in the mountains. My friends think it's weird, so does my husband lol. I think he would rather shop then me dragging him on some wild adventure.......

Kristin, is your zodiac sign Virgo? :)
As to me -- I hate all kind of alcohol and don't get it why people enjoy it so much.
I hate all things "white chocolate" - to me chocolate and WHITE don't go together
I hate crowds in general and busy streets with LOTS of people who are out just for a walk...this drives me nuts because they walk so sloooow
But I love sushi -- at first thought it was some kind of trendy obsession but when I tried it, I really liked it. I hate wasabi though -- so I always order without wasabi.
I don't really like bolognese sauce.
MILK? That's the one thing I LOATHE (unless it's with added cacao and sugar lol)
I hate ombre hair!!! (love balayage though)
I hate high-heeled sneakers/trainers.
What Brook said about mani/pedi and nail polish. Even though I like my nails with some color I rarely paint them because it drives me nuts
Oh, those are too many, I guess. Let's stop here before I turn into a hater lol

yes this - I had one manicure that my maid of honor set up - how is sticks jamming into the cuticles suppose to be comforting? and pedicures... OMG - I hate people touching my feet! I had a joint issue in my foot and I prided myself that I didn't kick the doc when he had to touch it to exam.

Another thing that people love are massages... the thought of someone outside of my hubby touching me... makes me shutter... does not feel good - it hurts! That is also in the line of hugs... I have to really like you to give you a hug... :o

I do however, love The Walking Dead.

I can't stand coffee, taste or smell. Sushi is a heck no and Asian cuisine is just not my thing.
And another shocker, I don't like red wine. Or dry white wine, a sweet one I'm fine with (my husband calls my favorite "apple juice" due to it's fruity, sweet taste.

Kiana

Wine. Sushi. The Walking Dead. I'm with the others that don't like those. LOL

Others have named most of the things I don't like, so I'm glad to see I'm not alone. In 'real life' I seem to always be the outcast though!

Seafood (and therfore sushi)

Anything celebrity related...

I don't like Beer, can't stand the smell of it. I'm not a big drinker in general, but I have been drinking more wine, I just have to find the right kind.

Super expensive purses, like more than $50, I'm not touching it.

Underarmor clothes for kids that will outgrow it in a few months. Any fancy clothing brand for kids really, I'm not willing to spend more on my kids clothes than I do on mine.

I haven't gotten into the "it" books since stupid Twilight, so I haven't read/watch the Hunger Games or Divergent.

Beyonce. I don't get, I did like Destiny's Child though.

I don't care for the sun/beaches/heat all that much either. Which is weird since I'm from Florida, but now that I'm older and the red hair, it's just too much hassle. LOL!

I know a lot of people love him, Benedict Cumberbatch, not attractive, Kylo Ren in Star Wars, why people liked/found him attractive, I don't get.

I'm sure there are a ton more, but those are some biggies.

EW! me too! I will only eat boneless wings. Watching people eat wings is gross too.

Off the top of my head:

Coffee is disgusting.
Any meat is disgusting.
I've never liked wine either - I've tried but outside of Boones Farm Tickle Pink or Strawberry Hill I've never acquired a taste  (I love beer, however).

Now see, I love wine but can't stand beer. I've tried many times, but it's just too bitter or something. I don't like it. Which is too bad because it's much cheaper than cocktails! lol!

With that change, I now LOVE it -- especially shrimp tempura rolls (i.e., no raw fish). Yum. So, if it's the fishy taste you hate, give it a try with soy paper.

I almost asked for that last week but then changed my mind at the last minute because I started over-thinking things. Maybe I'll give it one more shot. It's a texture thing FOR SURE.

I will also add "the walking dead" While I have never watched an entire episode of the show from the bits and pieces.. I just do not get the hype haha.

I was a big Walking Dead fan the first couple seasons, then it got really over-hyped and weird, IMO. I stopped watching a couple seasons ago because I decided it wasn't the most peaceful pre-bed viewing material. So now Eden and I crawl in bed and read while John and the boys watch.

Ha! So many things: coffee/Starbucks, avocados, Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, 'The Walking Dead,' vampires, zombies, 'Doctor Who,' 'Star Wars,' Legos, beer, wine, RPGs...

I like manicures (even though I never actually make time for them), but pedicures drive me batty. Never again.

And tv, too. I can go 6 months at a time without ever turning it on, and then it's probably because DH and I wanted to watch a show together. Give me a book or computer any day!

Will Ferrel. I have never, in my entire life, laughed at anything he has said or done. I'm pretty sure that I might be the only person in the world who doesn't love Elf, but I don't. I even tried watching it on a flight overseas, where there is literally nothing else to do, but I turned it off like half an hour into it because I would rather sit and stare at the seat in front of me than watch that movie.

Also zucchini is gross, and so is eggplant. And quinoa? Gag.

Plus, I don't like holiday themed kits. I just feel like I can only use them for one thing, and that is why I've been using the same two birthday kits for the last five years.

I don't like disneyland.. I have been there once with my family when i was 11 and once as a band trip. it was OK but it was nothing I am anxious to go back to... too expensive.. too many people.. I am not really a fan of rides either.

I also don't have a strong desire to go to a beach resort type place where you just sit around and drink and relax.. I like to go out and explore places when we go on trips which is why i LOVE road trips.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Disney stuff either. I mean, we took the kids there this year, but it's because I didn't want to deprive them of something just because it's not my gig.

For those of you that don't like alcohol (excluding religious preferences), when's the last time you had it? Most people don't like it right away. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've never met someone that liked it on their first tasting. Same with coffee. I consider both an acquired taste.

I'm quite surprised so many people dislike sushi. Good sushi doesn't taste fishy. I also don't consider California rolls to be sushi. I eat raw fish at least once a week. I LOVE salmon sashimi.

I promise I'm not trying to convert anyone! :p

As far as things I don't care for, I have very few. I don't like olives (not sure that's super rare though). I tolerate eggs, but only when smothered in "stuff" and I don't ever drink milk by itself. Also not a fan of lowercase-only typing. I watch very little TV, but enough where I can't say I don't like it all together, lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. :D I don't understand everyone's infatuation with Ryan Gosling either (my friends bag me out about it all the time).

I also don't have a strong desire to go to a beach resort type place where you just sit around and drink and relax.. I like to go out and explore places when we go on trips which is why i LOVE road trips.

Same here! We went to Vanuatu before we got married seven years ago and while we stayed in a resort, we spent most of our time exploring the country. I could never sit around the pool all day, every day like most of the other people staying there - there were too many exciting things to see and do!

Jane Austen.

I just can't read her... it's so awkward and makes me feel stupid.

I *think* I just died a little
I too thought this with my first Jane Austen book, but then I fell in love with Mr. Darcy and the fantasy that there will ever be a true feller like him out there.

Totally agreed about Clooney and Gosling ... though I must admit I have a little something for Mr. Tatum. He's kind of cute :D Brad Pitt is another one that doesn't do much for me. None of these men are unattractive per se, but I just don't think they are all that either.

Haha, what Flergie said about the actor guys.
As to the beach - I hate the sand getting into everything and I hate it when the water is cold too that's why the rare cases I go to the seaside is end of July, beginning of August when the water in this side of the planet is as hot as tea lol
But I totally hate overcrowded beaches. I hate the process of tanning too -- oh, how do I stay there all day under the HOT sun?

yes this - I had one manicure that my maid of honor set up - how is sticks jamming into the cuticles suppose to be comforting? and pedicures...

I am with you on the messages and hugs.... same exact deal

Wine.... never liked it, probably never will.... although there are some nights I wish I did. :p (hate beer too)

veggies - I have to dehydrate them, turn the into powder and then sneak them into my food that way before I'd eat them.

Disney.... I mean the kids watch the movies and I like them but I just don't get the HUGE hype about it.

Telephones... can't stand them! I have a smart phone but I call i my "text box"... I avoid using a telephone to actually talk like it's the plague.

Starbucks.... love coffee, can't stand anything from that place.

sun tanning (outside or tanning beds) - no thank you!

shopping.... i absolutely despise going into stores to shop... unless i have a specific thing i am going in for, and go straight to get that thing and get out, I do not want to be there.

Side note.... I am happy to see so many non George Clooney fans.... that leaves more of him for me! :D LOL

For you girls that hate the freezing water of the beach, you should totally go to tropical islands (like Bali), where the water is warm!
But yes, I hate the fact that the sand stick and get into your everything!

Oooh, I dream of going to some tropical island but then I stop myself because I've heard there are too many bugs in those places and I have a serious OCD and phobia of bugs (especially flying species). Is it true there are bugs?
Jenn, about the veggies -- does this hate of yours applies to all veggies? If yes, how do you substitute them? Like potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, peppers, onion, peas -- those are veggies we can't live without in this side of the world.

So glad I'm not alone on the things I don't like that others do including:

Reality TV - The Bachelor, Survivor, Amazing Race

Red Wine and Beer- I like white wine, but don't need it daily like some of the near, to over, 40 moms I know. I like cider, but not beer.

Relaxing vacations - I don't go on vacation to relax, I got to see things - lots of things. All in one resorts, too boring. Staying in one place for more than a week, boring.

Trendy teen words - bae, jam, etc. I have teens and I only use those words to make them laugh.

Trendy books - if I read, it's a generally a mystery and not something that will be turned in to a movie.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Avengers, Comic Books, Sci Fi - just bleh!

Netflix - just not in to it.

I haven't been in the forums in ages but this thread is awesome... lol.

I dislike... bananas (ew! ), pumpkins and beans (a texture thing) , books that most book clubs read (I keep trying to join local groups to socialize but I just don't like the books they pick... lol), beer (or any fermented, malted alcohol... they literally make me sick), swimming in anything but a pool (lakes and rivers are just gross, and there are things that might nibble on your toes... eek!).

I don't like reality tv. Or self-help tv like Dr. Phil or Dr. Oz. I also don't like crime documentaries or shows like Dateline.

I don't like eggs without ketchup.

I don't like perfume at all. Makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I don't like staying up late. I'm very much an early to bed, early to rise person.

I don't like switching purses so I overuse one.
