Broken iphone screens......

Has anyone ever had their iphone screen replaced not through apple? If so, where? It is just as good?
I dd got an iphone for christmas and she slipped today with it in her hand and shattered the corner (it even had an otterbox on it), she's so upset because she takes good care of it :(
Apple is a rip off though - it looks like it costs $170 to replace the screen :mad:

Yes. And it was perfect. No problems at all, wouldn't know the difference :)

What kind of place did you get it done at? Was it a lot cheaper?

Not sure where, but here there are lots of stores that offer screen fixes. Usually stores that sell cases etc...

My friend's husband owns iQue Repair here in Utah so that's where I'd go. I think it's $100?

Yes - I just had mine replaced at a local repair shop. It cost $120....but they gave us a frequent customer discount :(

Not sure about where you are, but here we have little mall kiosks that do them. An apple screen here would be $300 to replace but $100 at a kiosk.

Try asking on local FB groups... I always see ads in the yard sale groups and I think they'll be cheaper. They should be able to show you samples of what they've done. It may even be something I'll trust my husband to watch a youtube video of and DIY.

Cindy is it just a hairline crack or a shatter? Apple replaced mine under warranty for free because it was just a hairline and thats covered. Might be worth looking into.

I think it is shattered in the corner unfortunately :( it hit something hard in one spot in the corner when she fell...

Cindy, I think you are not too far from me, relatively speaking. My husband got his screen replaced in Brampton (not 100% sure where exactly, but can find out if you're interested - although I know there are lots of spots around the GTA that will do the same), paid less than 100$ for the repair, and couldn't tell the difference between before and after.
