I have exciting news!
Almost all the parents at my children's daycare has shown interest in my scrapping and my albums and now I'm holding a scrapping class there for the parents and teachers at the end of March! I'm really excited and a bit terriefied, I really don't like standing in front of a crowd, but I love sharing my passion for digiscrapping.
We're mainly going to focus on pocket style PL, but I'll throw in a quick template example and hopefully get them hooked.
If you have any tips or just good juju, please send them my way. :w00t:

That is SO awesome! I'm so happy for you that you have the opportunity to introduce someone to this amazing hobby of ours. Good luck!
P.S. If you're an essential oil user, Spearmint is great for easing fears associated with public speaking.

I think it would be a lot of fun to teach a scrapping class. (But, I am a teacher at heart.) So I say just focus on what you love about it and that you're getting to share that with others :) Hope it goes really well!!!
Wow, what a great opportunity!
Good luck!

Now this sounds like so much fun!!! How wonderful for you! I think it is a great idea to start with a Template!
Does Sweet Shoppe here have a freebie section? I'm not even sure as I'm fairly new. That way they can be directed for the class to do downloads to create their pages. That way they can be directed to a store too and see how it works to get product too. Off to see if there is.

Oh I've already planned on sending them to SSD for a freebie kit to play with.

My only advice from when I first started is to start simple and then you can build as they learn more.
What a great thing you are doing by agreeing to teach others this wonderful hobby (life).

Congratulations! Don't do too much that it's overwhelming and confusing for them. Baby steps, tease them with enough and go from there. Mention how it's a money-saver since you aren't buying paper supplies as well as a space saver since you can do it from your computer, laptop and even phone! The most expensive cost is printing, but even then, compared to paper scrapbooking it's a fraction of the cost!
Good luck and congratulations! That's so exciting!!

Thank you for all your advice and tips. I decided to just wing it and had just a pew things planned, like which template to use and we went from there. Not too many showed up, which was just as well as the class turned into more of a workshop than me lecturing them about scrapbooking. The 6 that turned up loved it and we're already thinking of the next one. Some took to it right away, and scrapped along without to many questions, others had more of a problem getting it right, but they all created something and walked away with the inspiration to continue. All 6 got hooked and most are now newbies here at SSD. I really hope to see them in the forums and galleries in time, but for now I'm happy they're bitten by the scrapping bug. :)
