View Full Version : Qotd: When do you call your layout done? (01/22)
When you're scrapping, at what point do you call your layout done?

I tend to work zoomed in while clustering and placing elements. So when I zoom out I look for holes in the design. When I zoom out and it feels finished to my eye I am done.

When I've tinkered with it for as long as I can stand it! :p Seriously, I'm the slowest, most nit-picky scrapper ever, and I tend to obsess over every little detail. I could probably keep second guessing myself for an eternity and never be done with my pages, but usually at about the two hour mark, I force myself to be done. I wish I were faster and more decisive, but that's just how I scrap. I've come to accept it over the years.

When I've added the journaling. That's the last thing I do when scrapping.

I just have a feeling of when its "done". But my pages are super simple and I'm totally content with that. :)

When I've stared at it for several hours and can no longer see anything else to "tweak". I'm also a slow scrapper. :D

I'm such a slow scrapper, and I spend way too much time fiddling with elements after I should probably just call it done.

This is SO me!! I could mess with a LO for many hours if I don't just stop myself and call it done!

I add the journaling and then the date the two last things, so after that it's done. When I ahve added all the flowers and elements on that I think look good, or my clusters annoy me enough that I"m done, then I add the journaling and date and it's done lol

journaling for me too! That's interesting about the zooming in! I don't tend to do that much when scrapping

If by journaling, ya'll mean adding the date, then that's when I'm done too ;) lol ... I'm not much of a journaler. I design my page, add photos, then the title, the date and then I'm done.

after it's flattened and resized lol.
in all seriousness, once i can't tinker anymore. i never overthink layouts anymore. if i decide i don't love it, i redo it later.

Same here. I usually don't zoom in. Maybe I do it once in about 100 layouts or so.
I have a problem that I can't always seem to stop adding stuff on my layout. I really have to say to myself... It's good, it's done now. On to the next.

Sometimes I add more and realize it's too distracting so I take it all out again and that's when I feel done. lol

I call it finished when I add the date! :D
Seriously, lately I've been having a hard time saying enough and stopping. I think it just has to look right--odd amount of flowers, clusters, buttons. Is there journaling on there or where can I put it after I upload to the gallery? Did I do the designer(s) justice with their kit? Did I use the same elements over and over again without using any other elements? Would my kids complain? Would I mind this printed forever?
If I can answer them correctly, then it's finished.
