First, thanks to everyone that initially recommended them to me. I am totally in LOVE with them! I have three color sets, and want them ALL! :)
So, now the questions...
1. How many albums can you do with one (one meaning one out of the six) of the ink pads before it starts getting low?
I did three baby boy bracket albums, and used the same (baby blue) cats eye ink for all three. By the third one, I could tell I was starting to run out of "juice" already! I know the ink pad is small, but if it runs out that quickly - I might go broke just buying the ink!!
2. Have you ever refilled one of the inks? If so, where did you get the refill bottle? And how did refilling it work out?
Thanks, ladies!

I have mine for months and months. I only use the charcoal black and now they are kind of a grey colour but I like them best like this. When they're brand new they are too dark and bright for my liking. In fact I use mine until the sponge crumbles and the sponge pad actually falls off the base :)
I do find that they run out pretty fast. Not sure if it's because it's chalk ink or it's because the pad is small....or a bit of both. But like Andrea said, the sponge does start to crumble and break from being swiped against the side of card/paper so I really doubt you can re-ink them like you can with eg a StazOn.
I started off buying the petal points (the flower shaped ones with...is it 6 or 8 colours?) but I found I only used a few of the colours a lot and the rest hardly at all. So I buy the individual ones now which are pretty cheap. I have like 4 "charcoal" (in various stages of "old-ness") on the go at the moment ;) and I buy a new one about every 2 months LOL! :)

I use the regular sized pads for everything except for getting into the corners and small spaces...then I use the cat's eye ones. My 2 must have colors are Charcoal and Chestnut Roan.

Colorbox has re-inkers - I got mine at the rubber stamp store. If you don't have a stamp store nearby, try ordering reinkers online at addictedtorubberstamps.com, and search for ink refills. They might not have the color you're looking for - a brick & mortar stamp store would probably order it for you.

I store mine upside down to keep the ink at the top of the pad (I store all my inkpads like that) so that may help a bit. I've had more trouble with mine coming apart - the sponge falling off the base- than with them drying out. There is a certain major online craft store that puts them sale often so when I need to replace them, I buy them then. I probably have about 25 differenct colors of them....I use them on every project I do.

Hopefully its not against da rules to post, I know some boards don't want you to post about other stores but since this is mainly digi....Joann.com puts their ink pads (which includes the cats eyes) on sale all the time, sometimes up to 40% off. That's when I stock up. Plus you can usually google and find a free shipping coupon code for them.

Excellent Cindy :) I'm probably going to Joann's tomorrow. Staples is really where I'm going (for printer paper), but Joann's is right next door and I can't resist :p
