I'm serious too :D :D

I was reading in my girlie mag (yes.. I don't know why I get girlie mags either) about these big wide rectangle looking brushes, how they're supposed to help prevent you know.. that ripping out of your hair you get, but I'm skeptical. I forget what brush it was specifically.. I'm guessing they're called "paddle brushes" (it was in allure's june issue if you know what I'm talking about :D :D )

I hate the brush I have.. it's supposed to be all special "tourmaline infused" or whatever that means-- it doesn't do anything for my hair except rip it out. I have long thick QUITE unruly hair. It's got an ugly wave if I let it just air dry-- which means more snarls.

So what kind of brush do you use? lol does it make your hair pretty? :D :D

When I had long hair I used a paddle brush. I loved it. I would start at the bottom and work my way up, to help with the tangles and knots.

all brushes suck at home... the only ones that seem to do anything are the magical ones they use at the salon!

i am of no help... sorry!

I hardly brush my hair. I use a beechwood wooden comb (http://www.shopaccakappa.com/StoreBox/beechwood/421.htm) that I got from Acca Kappa years ago. Brushing my hair makes it all weird and fluffy.

I just use a cushion brush and deal with breakage and frizz. lmao

to tame them after I get my hair how I want it, I use a little wax or pomade to smooth.

I am tempted to get a paddle brush, I've been looking at them for a while, but wasn't sure if one would be beneficial.

Ummm... seriously, I've had my brush for years and I was just looking at it the other day, because it looks like something took a bite out of it. I had no idea I was missing so many bristles! LOL! I normally use a paddle brush, only because anything that is vented gives me SO much static.

I'm in the market for a new one too.

I don't use a brush normally. My hair is pretty wavy so I comb it with a wide tooth comb. But if I'm blowing it straight (which is rare), then I use a brush. I prefer a round one so I curl under the flippy stubborn ends.

that was my last disaster.. a round brush :D :D everything I Read said to use one........... um. ........... yeh no. I'm surprised I didn't go bald :D :D My hair is too psycho for a comb-- or I've never used the right kind of comb. I dunno how you girls do it lol

That is the exact comb I use.
I have a paddle brush that I only use for blowdrying...I hate brushes.

Have you tried one of those cheapy combs that are meant for the showers?
My mom has some crazed-out, thick, curly hair - and she often doesn't bother to mess with it after she combs it out when it's wet.

(btw - as a girl with super fine, super thin, breaking-all-the-time blonde hair? I LOVE love LOVE my Grund Tourmaline Brush :P )

I have fine, wavy hair. I've used a hair pick since junior high...probably started with a perm, but I like using it because it gives me more volume and slides right through and knots. I also round brush my ends if I'm actually styling my hair. Regardless, I HAVE to blow dry my hair or it looks nasty...like a wet cat.

I don't like paddle brushes at all because they mat my hair to my scalp and/or add static.
