A month or so ago I noticed Backblaze wasn't backing up my files. I reached out to their customer service and they suggested an update of software, which I did. However; even after that, there are many many files (mostly photos) that aren't being backed up - the folder names are not listed under the drive when I open the Backblaze control panel.

Thankfully, I have everything backed up on 2 EHD's - but now am looking for another place to back them up online - and am looking for suggestions ...

I'm sad, because Backblaze has worked so well for several years. Hopefully it is a software issue and not something funky with my computer!

TIA!

I'm a huge fan of the cloud. I can log in from any computer, and my files are there. I'm using OneDrive, but there are many cloud services.

I'm not surprised to hear this happened. After faithfully using Backblaze for over 5 years, I also had issues with it not backing up. And, it also caused my computer to actually lose my internet connection quite often. Don't have those disconnection issues since I got rid of BackBlaze.

I switched to multiple EHD's. But I have heard good things about IDrive. I know someone that has used it for several years and has no problems with it.

Do you have Amazon Prime? They offer free unlimited photo storage. I don't back up DS there (cuz they only store JPG for free--other types have a size limit). Anyway, that's an option that wouldn't cost more money.

I have BB. Every once in awhile I check to make sure stuff is being backed up because once I accidentally clicked a button that stopped a folder from getting backed up.

No system is perfect. No product is perfect. But I like how easy BB is to navigate and to check on. That's why I stick with it. (That and it's fast compared to other cloud storage options I've tried.) And I have 4 EHDs here plus 2 at my parents' so I'm a little ... over-the-top rofl.

I loved BB and agree, it's so easy! I'm not at all sure what happened that not all files are being backed up, I've been messing for weeks now. Just decided to go with something different!

I have 2 EHD's at home, and really never thought about taking one elsewhere, but might just have to do that! I don't know if there is such thing as "backed up too much!" LOL!

My parents live hundreds of miles away, so they are my "physical copies in another location" so I can't back them up very often. But it's nice to know that if my house had a natural disaster etc *and* BB konked out on me (like it did to you), then I'll still have my photos--save for the last 6 months. Actually, that's not true because I upload pics to Amazon too rofl.

As for backing up too much, ITA! I guess that's why I seem to have like 5 different backup places. :D
