When did you start scrapping?

I was wondering if you are a long term scrapper or a newbie?

I started in 2006..I never heared of digital scrapbooking before and I was soo happy with my first pages:thumbup:

When I look at them now, okay..never mind, you have to start somewhere.

I had a scrap-break from a few years but now fully back again.

I started back in 2003 or thereabouts, when my first daughter was born. I didn't know about digital scrapping, so started with paper, then swapped to digi a few years later. Importing paper scrap products to NZ made them really expensive, so it was a no brainer to eventually go digi.

This isn't my very first layout, but it's the first layout I posted here at SSD. All the other galleries I used to post at have long gone now.

I don't have my very first layout as I used Memory maker... but this is my very first one at Sweet shoppe. I remember I did it for a template challenge - never used templates before... and was the first time using Photoshop Elements. LOL! I never have been so frustrated! haha

2013: This is actually the 2nd layout I'd ever created. I'd used quick pages before and was taking a digital scrapbooking course with Jessica Sprague so I knew a little about digiland/designers/CT's etc but clearly not a whole lot more! Crazy 4 Monograms had posted on her FB fan page that the first x number of people to reply would be gifted this kit and then people could vote on their favorite layout. The winner was offered a CT spot. I won and thus began my journey to becoming a SugarBabe!

This is the oldest one I have access to right now. From 2007. I may have been digi-scrapping for a year or half a year at that point.
I was sooo proud of myself for "splitting" that star so the little stars could pour out. lol And, goodness, I didn't recall being so flowery with words. :p

I want to say around 2005-ish for me...? I sadly seem to have lost all of my earliest pages to a HD crash...but I found this gem of a collage with some on it :D

I started paper scrapping when I was a teenager (Creative Memories Albums). In 2006, we purchased our 1st Digital camera. Now, I am 100% digital. We still have some paper supplies and even a few CM albums that haven't been used. My oldest 3 girls still have paper photos that need to eventually be scrapped, and 2 of them have shown an interest in scrapping those photos themselves to preserve the memories...we will see how that goes!

I started back in 2006 - and boy (!) has the industry evolved! Thankfully, so has my scrapping ability - lol. I no longer have pages I created back then, but I do remember sitting at my computer in tears because I'd get so frustrated trying to figure things out in Paint Shop Pro. I don't recall finding many tutorials back then either.

I probably began my scrapping journey in August or September of 2000 because I remember my daughter being 8 months old. As with many others, I started with paper layouts. Already I was also doing titles and journaling on the computer and printing them out. Before long I landed myself onto a digital CT and within 6 months of that, I was designing. Paper scrapping, or my best attempt at it, back when I was in high school in the 90's.

Digi in the summer 2006 when my oldest was about 15 months old.

Even back this I was a chronological scrapper! LOL! This was my first layout.
