I am a theme scrapper and always looking for new folder names. Mine are labeled by themes, seasons, etc. So curious if anyone else does this and willing to share their folder names. Here is an example of mine.

This is so organized! I take a lazy route and just use the shoppe's search engine to find kits--and if I don't have the one I want, it goes into my cart or my wish list! I keyword all my photos, though, and I use the categories that make the most sense for how I scrap--usually the person's name, the place, and what the photo is about (garden/ walking/ cooking/ travel/ etc).

I've never thought of tagging my photos, that's a great idea!

I used to organize them by themes but now my stash is getting bigger and I find it hard to find them, lol.. I need to make more themes but I haven't really got into it.

I used to have them organized, very similar to what you have... now they just hang out in my download folder and I search for a key word in either the store or on my hard drive. I have majority of my photos in google photos so I use that search engine to get find photos for a certain theme kit.

I have an extensive organizing system through Lightroom... it's time-consuming but collecting and organizing scrap supplies is as much a hobby for me as it is actually scrapping. I only tag the previews, and they're tagged by colors and themes. Those two categories allow me to find what I need 99% of the time. Here are my theme categories!

I organize by theme- kind of. I also organize by designer for those that I have been on creative teams for. It's kind of a mess- I used to add a shortcut in the theme folder to the designer folder, as well as which store folder, but I've really slacked on that lately. I def need to spend some time cleaning it up. Here's a screenshot:

Same as Erica here! I have my kits in folders based on designer name unless it's a collab. I do tag all my kit previews with info like theme, main colors, if it has coordinating journal cards, alphas, etc and use that as the folder cover. I'm very much "out of sight, out of mind" so I have to see it to use it!

Same but each designer folder is in a store folder. Makes it extremely easy when a designer moves to a new store (for instance when a store closes and the designers scatter to several stores). I've had to do that a couple of times for some of my designers.

This works for me because I am pretty much a kit scrapper.

I have one folder for anything Disney or theme park related. Those are all organized by character, park, food, resort, swimming, princess, shopping etc.

The rest of my kits are mostly by theme. I do have a few by designers and/or store. I love scrapping theme layouts, so for me, it is easiest to search for something specific when they are organized that way.

I would like to organize my templates better...but so many template sets have various photo options. Plus, if I need an extra photo option, I will switch a journal card spot into a photo. Maybe someday I will figure out some way to organize them!

I also use the native Mac 'tagging' to tag with the store, the year, and a few other things (i.e. template, alpha, cards ...)

Same. I'm lucky if they make it into the folder. My "Need to File" folder is out of control!

I think my method has been most like Amie's in past. Lately if I buy something it just gets plunked into a folder called "NEW PU". I will live to regret that one of these days. LOL LOL

I don't categorize my kit folder. I just have a KITS folder. I do, however, tag the kit preview and I have a PREVIEWS folder. The image is named by the kit's name and the designer's initials. I search that folder when I'm looking for a specific theme.
ETA: I also have an Excel spreadsheet with kit info (name, designer, store, themes, colors, etc). I search that as well, esp if I'm looking for certain colors or something even more specific than my metadata tag themes.

The other part of that is turning the folder into the preview image - so you can see what it looks like without opening it up. Cmd-I on the folder, then you can cmd-c on the preview image, and cmd-v in the preview area and it'll make it look like the preview.

With you on that!

I do put a copy of the previews into a special folder and tag those as to theme. Then I can search them in Adobe Bridge. I also have it set up that I can add a label to the preview when I've used it. Then when looking for a template or kit, I can look thru only the ones I haven't used. Been using up my stash since I started doing this! Still a long ways to go!!!
