I am going to need to get a new laptop sometime soon. I currently have a Dell but I carry an iPhone and an iPad. I also use a Windows PC at work. I am trying to decide if I should stick with a Windows PC or switch to a Mac at this time. I use my computer for scrapping, scrolling the Internet, and working on my Master's Degree. I will be retiring from the military in 2 years and likely going to work as a teacher after that. Give the reasons you love what you use or what you would do if you were in my place.

I absolutely love my Mac at home, as it syncs so seamlessly with my iphone. I use a PC at work as well. The main reason I love it is that things just work together better when you have all the same 'brand'. So Photos on my mac just takes the photos from my phone without me ever having to connect. Same with notes, etc - I can start them on my phone and read on my computer, and vice versa.

I’d stick with a PC if you plan on teaching. In my county the high schoolers are issued Dell laptops, middle schoolers too, I believe, and the elementary students have tablets.

I have a Dell desktop at work, another one at home (WIN 7), plus a Dell laptop that I use for scrapping. I do have an iPad and an iPhone. If I want a photo from my phone I either email it to myself, or download it from iCloud.

LOL I was going to say the opposite - I'm a teacher, and all of our devices are Macs! I have a 27" iMac for scrapping and I LOVE it!

I love my Mac. Once I made the switch, I never looked back to PC ever. I find it so much practical and it lasts longer in terms of endurance and usability than PC OS.

Because of you planning on teaching I would look into what the schools in your district use. It would likely be good to get familiar with a mac if that's what is used for where you'd be teaching.

I work in a school district that's all PCs (with the exception of some of the youngest grades, where they give students iPads instead of PCs). It's easy enough to bring my school laptop back and forth with me (and I think some things can only be done on school-issued computers), so I think I'd feel comfortable getting whatever computer I wanted for home use.

This right here might be enough to convince me. It's such a pain transferring my photos.

Oh, I live in an area with many school districts. They all use different things, that makes it hard as I could be in any of the school districts depending on who hires me. My son's school uses iPads.

I pay for icloud storage, but it's not much really and so worth it!

I use a MacBook Pro for scrapping and all of my personal business. I am a teacher and I have a PC at work, and I hate it. Haha. Like so many above, I love that my phone talks to my iPad that talks to my computer. It's just so easy to use. I also use iCloud as my storage.

I only use my PC for work things at work. We use Google for Education so it really doesn't matter if I use my home or work computer.

This is us too - when we switched years ago I switched my personal email, etc. to Gmail and use Google for all the things. Love it - especially Google Keep, I use that for everything, both at work and at home!
