Has anyone ever taught others our fun hobby? Or had someone teach them (not self-taught like so many of us)? A local cafe is looking for crafty types to teach craft skills of some sort for ladies wine & craft nights. It made me intrigued if there would be a demand for digiscrapping classes - although even if there was I wouldn’t know where to start with teaching someone about digi lol

Yes, I have taught a few friends how to work with photoshop and templates. How to clip papers to a template, how to add shadows, show how layers in photoshop work etc...
It was not in some sort of ladies night or scrapbook gathering. It was just one on one.

I’ve taught numerous people to scrapbook over the years, but digiscrapping is something else entirely. My journey included online classes from Jessica Sprague and Tiffany Tillman Emmanuel via Scrapaneer’s as well as Ali Edwards and Cathy Zielske. Not to mention I’ve been a Photoshop user since we plug-and-chugged 3.5” floppy disks to install it back with version 2.0.

So many of those resources are now defunct, so I’m not sure if that means there just isn’t an interest in it or if the overhead of offering online classes simply isn’t sustainable as a business model.

It makes me sad, because I still go back to the class materials periodically to brush up on my skills, and I struggle when people tell me they want to get started digiscrapping and ask where to go to learn how.

I love putting together tutorials. I've love watching them on YouTube and was part of the team at Scrapaneers and enjoyed watching and learning from her.

I put together some tutorials at one point when I was into designing and actually helped a few others learn how to get into designing themselves.

I've taught some people how to digi scrap. It's usually been one on one or small groups. I used to help people all the time at Digi Night Out in Utah, but we haven't had one since the pandemic.

I learned how to digi scrap from Scrapper's Guide (now called digital scrapper), Jessica Sprague and Tiffany Tillman/Scrapaneers (now closed). Digital Scrapper is the best option I've found for people to learn PSE and/or Photoshop. They offer weekly tips/tutorials and offer new classes through out the year. You work at your own pace and can get help from the instructors and other scrappers in the community.

I often refer back to Digital Scrapper classes and tutorials and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn to digi scrap.

I taught classes at digital scrapping conferences/retreats and I've written tutorials and made video tutorials as well.

I think it would be fun to find a few interested people and help them learn, especially in a little cafe. Trina, you should see if there would be anyone interested. You've been digi scrapping a long time, and I think you would make a great teacher!

I used to have a website on myfamily.com that was for digital scrapbooking and taught a number of people through that. Making them little freebies to use is what started me designing. :)
